Like the title says, the skin on both of my arms has been peeling for a few days now. It's not painful, it's just more annoying because it itches. I've been using lotion on it and that has helped a little bit, but I was wondering if anybody else has any tips. I can't go to my doctor because he's a massive transphobe and he is retiring, so we are in the process of getting a new doctor (which is going to take a year in my area). So, I'm kinda between a rock and a hard place at the moment..

Is this post sunburn or has the air been dry where you are? Maybe eczema or psoriasis? allergies?

FWIW, it might be worth it to go to urgent care if you think this is something more serious. Just pay for the visit out of pocket and be done with it. Some insurance companies will cover part of the Urgent Care visit with a copay. It's worth asking just to be able to see a doc or Nurse Practitioner who might be able to offer some relief or at least some peace of mind.

    peeling or flaking?

could be psoriasis or eczema .. assuming not sunburn
..but both could do with a doctor's input, or a good pharmacist

It's peeling really. I had a sunburn, but that was a little over a month ago. So, I'm not sure if that could be the cause. I might just have to go to urgent care, which will be a trip, since I still don't have the insurance cards with my new legal name on them.

Not sure if your itching has stopped yet, Brad, but I'm almost certain that you're just peeling from your past sunburn.
Depending on your skin health and the severity of your burn, you might peel sooner or later than everyone else. I start peeling about two weeks after a bad burn and I peel for about two weeks total before I get it all off.

And yep - the worst part is indeed the itch. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Tylenol, lotion, and drinking water helps, for future reference.

But like I said - not sure if this has been solved yet or not.

I agree that it's probably from the sunburn. I've had sunburns that take over a month to begin to peel.

Thanks everybody. It was a pretty bad burn, so it could be from that. I've just never had it start peeling so far after. I'll remember the sunscreen for pride next year...
