I missed Alaska's Pride festival thing because I was camping, and at first I wasn't too disappointed (because, you know, social gatherings,) but then I saw how fun it looked on the news the next day. I'm usually not a fan of crowds and such but I would have at least liked to go.

But there's always next year I guess!

SO ANYWAY has anyone ever been to a pride festival? What was it like? Tell me all about it y'all

Yeah, I went to my city's pride last year and the year before. Couldn't be bothered last month, though.

Well, I haven't been to Pride in Cincinnati and Dayton (I was sick)

I did, however, go to King's Island Pride Night last October, and it was a lot of fun. It was nice night at the amusement park, lots of couples (particularly older ones), no parking cost, reduced admission, a nice drag show at the theatre, and just an overall friendly and warm enviroment

No. This will be my first. I will either march with my church or the RGMC. The chorus will also participate in other activities.

I went to mine last weekend and it was the best experience of my life. It gets better each year and it is so much fun! I recommend trying to volunteer at least once in it or walk in the parade if you can. Its a lot of fun

Oh yeah, I never really thought about volunteering, that's a good idea! I've met the executive director of Identity (which is like Alaska's LGBT+ center) and I'm sure I could ask to help them out in some way

I'm excited for next year, maybe I could even help set it up.

I went to Pride pretty recently. It was really fun, especially because I was with a bunch of my friends, which made me a lot more comfortable. I did march in the parade, but I think it would have been just as much fun, if not more fun, to watch. Because I was marching, I didn't get to see a lot of the other groups.

I have been to Pride every year for the past twenty. We usually go to the fair, but we always go to the parade. I have been in the parade itself four times and helped out at the fest three times. I've always enjoyed it either way. The one I particularly remember was when I was on a float with my husband's chorus. Well there was a downpour that morning and everyone was kind of milling about wondering if they were going to have to cancel the parade. And then about five minutes before kickoff it cleared and the clouds parted and suddenly it was a beautiful day and the entire parade route--all three hours--our float blared out "Don't Rain on My Parade" from Funny Girl. And as we moved through the parade route people absolutely lost their minds. It was a truly glorious afternoon.

I've went to Pride for the last two years, I even helped set it up last year and I got to be one of the people holding a big rainbow flag. It's not too big, since I live in a small city, but I love every moment of it, I'm looking forward to it next month.

I would absolutely love to go to my city's Pride! One year I'd love to go to Sydney's Pride. That..would be amazing! I'm a little hesitant though as I'm not out to anyone yet and have no idea how to get involved. I should start googling that..

Yep! been to the one in Denver 3 times, and Boulder 2 times (woulda been 3 had it not been canceled due to flooding last year)

I enjoyed it every time I went.

The 2 cities pride's had a totally feel as one was a large event with tons of people, the other was pretty small...

There's a few pic's in my albums from the Denver one.

I've marched in London Pride in uniform and for the Armed Forces. I'm doing it again this Saturday. I was extremely nervous doing it but felt amazingly proud and the feedback from the crowd was awesome

yea, i went to one, it was ehhhhh.
a lot of guys that i saw and met were somewhat judgemental. except the leather guys. i guess the rainbow necklace didn't do the trick. it was awesome of how open guys and women were, as well as transgenders.

Nope. Where I live they have a huge pride event(s), I just haven't yet got around to it. It could possibly that I'm still quite nervous...
