Breast feeding in public?

Depends how person handling the situation. If mother is careful... like covering babies head/breasts, it is not a problem. Actually I find it heartwarming.

 

I breastfed all three of mine and I did it where they wanted it done. More than once I had to ask why anyone was watching. I "wore" my kids and so had a "cover" for them. Never seen a woman literally "whip it out" LOL

 

I really don't care, as long as they're covered. I don't see the problem with it at all. It's free food for the baby and with a new baby, I'm sure that money is tight. Babies need to eat too and some women have worries about giving powdered milk to their children.

 

It's not just acceptable, it's beautiful.

 

I personally don't give a shit. It's boobs, can't see why it should be offensive to anyone.

 

If the woman herself doesn't have a problem with it, and covers it, then I don't see why anyone else should have an issue.

 

I have no opinion on the matter. I would think having a bottle at hand would be easier than sticking your breast out every single time, but if a mother is breastfeeding outside, who am I to judge. Men and teens are topless often and pecs are way hotter than boobs so yeah

If a baby needs feeding, a baby needs feeding! It doesn't matter where it is. Mothers shouldn't feel ashamed about having to feed their baby in public simply because someone might look at them funny or think it's wrong.

Plus, breasts are not sexual organs. The fact that we have sexualized them and it is now "inappropriate" to show them in public is bullshit. What breasts are for is feeding infants. If an infant is hungry and needs to be fed, then the infant should be fed at that time and place regardless of whether or not the breast they are drinking from is covered.

Sorry, this issue makes me really really mad.

 

Having been the father of 3 children, it practical, natural, and necessary...BUT...it also needs to be done discreetly...no one wants to see you whip it out and feed your kid...espescially if that child is beyond infancy...it's a matter of good taste.

 

If a mother has to do it, I'm okay with it. Just don't make a big scene and I can mind my own business.

 

Well, hey. They're there for a reason, lol. All in favor of a woman feeding the kid- kid's gotta eat too.

 

I think it's fine. I think a little discretion should be shown but not to the point where you have to outright hide anything.

I personally don't find it disturbing, and I don't mind seeing it done in public.

What does disturb me is the fact some weirdos do get off on it -- watching a mother feed her child, I mean. And that's part of the reason I would never be able to do it myself. Perhaps more exposure will help to make it less sexualized? I've no idea. It's a perfectly natural thing, but there are plenty of perfectly natural things that we don't do in public. I suppose I'm mostly conflicted on the issue.

 

It'll probably cause me to focus my eyes for one second longer than I would have otherwise, until I realize what's occurring - but hell no it's perfectly fine.
