I think that the only way to beat back the fetishizing appropriation of 'lesbian' is to continue to use it for ourselves. Honestly, it's not the word that's just being taken, it's the entire identity. If we all called ourselves 'gay women', then that's the term the porn industry would use because it's not the term that's important to their consumers. I don't see the point in abandoning the word, in that light.

It's essentially the same thing as taking back the word 'queer,' although 'queer' was used negatively at first. 'Lesbian,' however, was not. It actually has a beautiful history, in my opinion, but I am neither lesbian nor do I use the word queer, so I can't say much about it.

I've always used LGBT. For me personally, it's just easier to say and remember.

LGBT+, I prefer. Trying to pronounce it with the IQA is difficult. It becomes like a complicated name for a person. I like MOGII in that it isn't unwieldy and difficult to pronounce, but it not something that many people know about.

I prefer MOGII but I use LGBT because it's common and people will know what I'm talking about.

or human ... I'm fond of that one, too! Transhuman has a different meaning altogether though :icon_lol:
