I can't remember where I had read this, but some doctor was rattling on about the dangers of anal sex to bottoms. He was saying that he was seeing patients lose control of their bowels and also have urinary incontinence after having 20+ years of anal sex. I thought this was outlandish and maybe it was some stupid chain mail even. Has anyone heard about this? This just can't be true in my opinion, but it came back to mind yesterday.
Was pun not intended? ? Also, from what I've read, the anal muscles are quite "elastic" and process things that are "larger" (wider) than most male penises. I suppose as long as you're not getting "fisted," there is little cause for concern. Hope others chime in.
Urban legend - See here: Does anal sex cause incontinence? - Salon.com On a more personal note - was in a three year relationship with a guy who pretty much wanted to do anal (as the top) on a near nightly basis and I never noticed even the slightest loosening except immediately after - and that probably had more to do with the excess lube making things feel slippery than anything else. A quick shower fixed that right up. Todd
This sounds like the dreaded propaganda used by right wing conservatives who are anti-gay known as "Gay Bowel Syndrome".
I honestly wasn't trolling. I grew up extremely sheltered and so don't know nearly as much as the rest of you. My mom told me the basics and gave me a Focus on the Family book about sex for kids, and that was it.
It's fine. I thought it might have had some validity to it as well when I was younger, until they said it only occurred in gay men, not ANYONE who does anal sex.
I think it's somewhat true, I have heard from numerous sources that too much and too often can cause issues with that end of your body. If you're not too rough though, it should be fine :3
With the exception of the bottom having a medical issue specific to their bowels and anus, no, there should not be a problem like that. Of course, if proper care isn't taken to empty the bowels before anal sex, then things could get a little messy. The danger that you'll be permanently incontinent is less an issue than the potential embarrassment resulting from immediate looseness, especially during the act. Take care, be prepared, and always use protection.
Probably not true. It might cause things like fissures or hemorrhoids in those with a predisposition for those things (those suffering with conditions like IBD) or those who don't take it easy/use lube but I doubt the incontinence thing. Its a muscle thats used daily so I doubt it would suffer long-term damage from slight overuse.
Do people have incontinence after passing stool for 20+ years? About the same size as penis or toys, really...
