I hate Frozen and I know everyone will hate me for this. But just today I went on a rant about what is wrong with it. And it has a similar plot to the Lion King (which is better). I just want to know if i'm not alone

You are not alone, but I do find Elsa attractive when she is in her ice castle

why would everyone hate you for it? Some people don't like it

I love it to death...but then everyone likes Step Brothers and I think it was the dumbest movie ever

I wouldn't say hate - I'd have called it "decent."

I just didn't get all the hype. Tangled for me was what everyone thinks Frozen is, it seems.

Hate is a strong word. It's just a movie, who cares

I didn't care enough to see it, but the amount of frozen-related stuff on the internet is indeed obnoxious.

It's okay. The movie just isn't as awesome as everyone makes it out to be, or at least thats the way I see it. I also dislike musicals though.
I loved Brave (I dyed my hair red so I could be 'literal merida') and everyone thought it was silly. Thats okay though, most people don't relate to the story the way I do!

I don't hate it, but I don't love it. I'm not sure it was worthy of the hype everyone had for it.

No, you're not. The music didn't fit in, the plot was lazy, the characters looked like they'd been quickly taken from previous models, and the amount of people who love it is ridiculous.

I got even more annoyed when one of my Indian friends pointed out that there were only white characters, and a fan proceeded to give pathetic reasons, and then got more positive about it (whether to spite her or not, it was horrible). I've seen that happen a lot with Frozen.

I hate Frozen with a passion.

The reason? I haven't even seen the film yet the songs are now permanently etched into my brain from them being played non-stop everywhere. A nice, stressfree trip to the supermarket? "LET IT GOOOOOO! LET IT GOOOOOOOOOO!" Just what I need in my life. :bang:

I had to endure Frozen. I understand its appeal to its target demographic, but in my opinion anyone old enough to legally be on this site should have grown out of it. The visual effects are impressive though.

I've never seen it, and I have no intentions of seeing it. Anything that gathers a lot of hype is something I usually avoid just to piss people off. Plus, it doesn't appeal to me at all - a movie about a singing princess discovering herself sounds.. boring.

my theory as to why it has become so successful:

    1) it was releases around christmas so it was a nice christmassy film (for straight to DVD standards)

    2) there was no initial hype leading up to it's release (of course after the release people love to jump on the bandwagon, any bandwagon, in fact, i am on the anti-frozen bandwagon right now), people would have gone to watch it with low expectations, walked out feeling good that they spent money on a film, although cheaply made, did not follow the exact same pattern as all other disney films

    3) admittedly, most young people in the west do not know the value of good music, they live in a world where music for the most part is for profit only, thus let it go - more like get over it

I liked it, but the LEGO movie was better.
The moral seems to have been tacked on at the last moment.
Let It Go was a good song, but it's not really the kind of music I like.

Overall, not really worth the hype.

I've yet to see it but my sisters have and they both loved it one way or another. I have heard the soundtrack for it which is lovely, especially since Idina Menzel has such a great voice (Defying Gravity, FTW).
