He can be funny and insightful sometimes. XD

 

Ok I checked it out, as long as he's there to help people that's fine. But my first impression of him is that he's superficial & like someone else here said another stereotypical gay dude (this is what many think when they hear the word gay) there should be some gays on yt that don't fit the stereotype.

 

I don't care for his sense of humor, and I'm not big into his channel, but nothing against the guy or people who like his videos. He's trying to help... in his own way, and maybe get pageviews along the way. Hey whatever. Like most things, I just ignore it. Especially since my boyfriend's pretty big into davey's stuff.

 

He's alright. Kinda funny sometimes, but I don't watch his videos religiously.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Davey was one of the first major gay youtubers i believe?

He has one video I absolutely love called "breaking gay myths" that video helped me a lot when accepting my sexuality.

Personality wise, he can be very annoying. He always talks about sex and perpetuates some ridiculous stereotypes. He has done some great things for the community though, I don't love his videos or his personality but he has a few gems.

 

no, i think he was one of the first major ones, along with the "LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!!" guy...... as far as i remembered, he got a bit "famous" when a worker caught him wanking off in his own apartment.(i might be wrong on that one too)

 

The thing that bothers me is that some of the major gay youtubers (Tyler Oakley, Lohanthony) are such attention whores and they perpetuate such stereotypes in the community. Davey isn't that bad though, I remember that Britney guy...he was pretty bad too...apparently he's a pornstar now :/

At least we have a lot better, realistic gay youtubers now.

 

Absolutely love him. His campness is cute without being annoying and his body is sensational. And it feels great to know I can swoon over him as much as I want because he's gay!

 

HAHA REALLY???? i never knew that about the britney guy. yea he's not THAT bad. i don't really like tyler oakley. he just seems like the type that would be friends with you but in actuality is a prick. to each it's own i guess. we do got a lot of better lgbt youtubers, hopefully ones that don't really perpetuate the stereotypes that much.

Hes not an advocate trying to better the world for LGBT youth and he doesnt claim to be.

I enjoy his videos and just see them as slightly comical out looks on life.

He seems to really enjoy life and not take much seriously. I dont think its fair to judge his intelligence from how he acts on youtube videos.

I don't look up to him for his moral wisdom, hes just a youtuber that makes amusing videos

Also, his pecs are too square for me if we are talking about that... also him being ripped seems incredibly conflicting with his personality xD Just an observation (not that feminine guys cant be muscular )


Finally, in response to some of the comments here... People just being themselves is not "perpetuating stereotypes" they are just being themselves... the stereotype of feminine "queen-y" gay guys is not a negative one, its just the most well known.

 

I've watched a good amount of his vids partly from his body and his guest ALWAYS being hot. But I think most ppl would assume most gay guys are like him, which is not the case!

 

I wouldn't say it's a bad thing, just an annoying thing since it can override the actual content (bringing up penises in the middle of a serious video for example). The thread creator asked us for opinions on him...so he's basically asking us for our judgements. No one is saying that perpetuating a stereotype is a bad thing, it's just one reason why some of us don't enjoy watching his videos, doesn't mean we have anything against him personally. I would feel the same way if I was watching a straight jock talking about boobs all of the time.

 

He's a very silly guy! His body is a bit too muscular for my tastes but he's funny

 

A bit juvenile, but he does have those moments that make me smile ^_^
