Small trigger warning for self harm.

I wear rubber bands around my wrists to snap when I feel the need to self harm. That way I can feel pain without actually injuring myself.

One of the guests at my birthday party today asked me if I wear the rubber bands so I can snap them whenever I think straight thoughts.

I didn't think he was the kind of guy who would say something that callous, so after I went home I sent him a facebook message to explain it.

His response was "Oh, so I was right?"

He then tried to explain why the joke was funny. Some people are so awful.

I don't think you should class him as a "friend". A "friend" is someone who is supportive, loving and caring regardless of who you are . What a vile human being..

Ask him if he was trying to get you mad because he was thinking gay thoughts.

But...yeah. Some people are so insensitive. :/

That's horribly insensitive :/ I think you should just stop talking to him altogether.
