We so do! (&&&) This means I get to keep my long hair and dresses and leggings and lipstick, and love ladies! Life's pretty amazing at the moment. :eusa_danc
^This. Also, I just wanted to say I've been a member for less than a day, and this thread has already solved a crisis of identity for me. I've always thought I was crazy weird and not a "real" lesbian because I'm a femme that prefers femmes, but it actually is cool and makes me hella gay. And with that, I'm going to take my new-found knowledge and go to sleep.
Bi girl, 'chapstick' I guess. I most definitely like femmes. Though, not lots of makeup and lipstick & other very "girly" things. A more "natural" femininity is nicest, to me. Girl-next-door -ish. (I guess that's more or less how I am, to outward appearances, too.) And yes, it's really nice to know there are so many of you here. I feel less awkward.
If you're a feminine woman on the inside but also a tomboy - which is reflected externally, which in part is due to tomboyishness and in part due to low self esteem/shyness - can you still be part of the gang?
Yeah I'm pretty feminine looking. Although I don't like dressing overly feminine. I never wear skirts, mostly jeans. I'm also attracted to straight looking femme women with some exceptions. But I've never actually met any feminine lesbians, only bisexuals. When I go to dating sites I get depressed seeing how all the pretty feminine women I could see myself with are straight. And if there are any lesbians, they usually look too masculine.
A Femme who loves Butches. I am surprised how many are Lipsticks here! It's amazing to me, as most of the Femmes around my area are the Butch loving kind and I have never seen so many Lipsticks in one spot. I do have one cousin, who is Lipstick. Her wife is very very Femme. ---------- Post added 16th Apr 2014 at 04:08 PM ---------- That is just silly, of COURSE you are a real lesbian. We all have preferences. There are no hard and fast rules for love. People who would tell you that you are not has problems.
Pretty sure that's the dominant/desired paradigm around here, really. I'm soft butch and people don't seem to find that attractive.
So ... let's discuss what we mean by 'femme'. I consider myself one although I don't wear skirts or dresses anymore due to the dreaded high heels and hose issue. HOWEVER I occasionally wear makeup and often wear jewelry, and like to wear pretty clothes. I am definitely attracted to femme women, which (as others have noted) make it tough to find other femme lesbians.
I kind of look at femme as a personality more so than looks. I am a femme as far as looks but my personality is more ChapStick...however I date women who don't dress femme at all, but their personalities are far more femme than mine. I don't think I've ever have dated someone who dresses femme tho, I'm just not attracted to it. Hm...maybe I'm missing out lol
My wife says that people would always know I am a Femme. I wear skirts to go out in if we have a date, but casual it's usually jeans or comfort pants. In Summer it's all Sun dresses and Gypsy skirts, I usually wear makeup on weekends, when I don't work, but during the week, I don't get up early to put it on for work. I never go out without curling my eyelashes and putting on a BB cream. I don't really consider that makeup. I also have short hair and fix things, use tools and have male friends, maintain my car and do yard work. I love Rugby. Still a Femme. Maddy, my wife is a soft Butch, we Femmes notice you!
I am, kinda... I don't wear makeup, paint my finger nails, or use hair spray, but that's mostly because I'm allergic to a lot of beauty products. I'm not very pretty, but I still look girly-ish...
