Anyone hear about Peter LaBarbera, the anti-gay activist, getting arrested in Saskatchewan yesterday?
Anti-gay activist Peter LaBarbera arrested in Canada | Gay Star News Was detained at the airport trying to get in too. I had this mental image of a load of Mounties surrounding him shouting "OOT! OOT!" as soon as they clocked him.
You know what they say about our Mounties: "They always get their man." Would that I could say the same!
He will get charged with transpassing. Uni is private proprety in Canada even if it gets some public funding. Reading the comments on r/Canada is nice http://www.reddit.com/r/canada/comm...labarbera_arrested_in/?already_submitted=true Under section 319, it is illegal to publicly incite hatred against people based on their colour, race, religion, ethnic origin, and sexual orientation, except where the statements made are true or are made in good faith. Under section 318 of the Criminal Code of Canada, it is illegal to promote genocide. Just putting that there....
Very proud of my country right now ---------- Post added 15th Apr 2014 at 07:38 PM ---------- Omg, can not even explain to you how hard I laughed at this!!!:roflmao:
Whereas, in AMERICA, we have some states that are PETITIONING to have the right to be hateful based on sexual orientation.
Yep. I live in Saskatchewan and heard about it on the news yesterday! I was pretty pumped that he was arrested, but kind of disturbed about how they handled it very quietly and under the table. The community of friends heard about it and this is the video that was spread around (not the news one or anything)
