Robo from Chrono Trigger. He's so loyal and self-sacrificing for their friends and even for others. I don't want to make spoilers but those who know the game will know.

Alex, from the Golden Sun series. The guy had pretty much made himself appear to be on good terms with everybody

. The fact that he also had really unusual abilities for a Mercury Adept(teleportation, levitation, etc.) also made him pretty interesting.

He was such a jerk though, ha(at least originally), like what he does to you for catching him creeping outside the lab window. Have to say it did make him pretty fun to have as a rival though; gave you a reason to teach him a lesson.

 

I have a few! Melia from Xenoblade Chronicles, Vivi from Final Fantasy IX, Ringabel from Bravely Default, Lea and Xion from Kingdom Hearts and Rosalina from the Mario series. I could probably go on, but those are the ones that come to mind first.

I like Earthshaker from DOTA 2 he's a badass hunk of fur that can decimate opponents by LITERALLY RIPPING THE EARTH OPEN AND DRAGGING HUGE ROCK SPIKES OUT OF IT,

Magus (Chrono Trigger): Very complex character who also happened to have a badass theme. I can't go into too much detail about him, or else it would ruin the plot. However, he is definitely one of my favorites.

Sheena Fujibayashi (Tales of Symphonia): A tomboy ninja. She begins the game trying to kill you and your party, but eventually she joins you, and you learn why she was attempting to kill you. Great plot that involves two worlds vying with each other for only one's right to survive.

Auron (Final Fantasy X): His personality in comparison to everyone else in the party was refreshing, and he was very useful in combat. I also liked the fact he, despite being so grim and realistic, could become idealistic if the situation deemed it necessary. Also, near the end of the game, when you discover the truth about him, it really adds to the character.

I could probably think of some more, but these will suffice for now.
