Pshaw, PB and toast go together very well! But similarly, it wasn't until I took physics that I started to get a real appreciation for math. Suddenly, there was a reason to know how parabolas were defined lol.

I wish I were more mathematically-oriented but I'm awful at it. Anything past algebra/pre-calc, I find too tedious to even bother. Though, computational maths/numerical analysis/scientific computing has always caught my interest but I haven't bothered trying to learn it because, well, I'm not cut out for it.

Strangely, I really enjoy it at times because I love solving problems, and it's such a great feeling correctly solving a math problem. But those accomplishments are usually rare.

I love math. Takes your mind off everything and it's the only subject that you can't just rely on memory, you have to know how to do the problems. (I tend to have a memory stored of useless info.) So ya math is awesome.
The weird thing is it's the only subject I needed tutoring/remedial classes in. I guess I like it because it's the only thing I struggle in.

Now, I won't tell my math teacher that though! Math being enjoyable is a secret.

Algebraic equations are my weapon of choice.
Yes, I like math to some extent.
    Science is my forte, though.

Really? My teachers except one gave partial credit if you got a wrong sign or number as long as they see your work and know what you got it from. One even gave partial credit when I said the sin of 30 was pie/6 which is the radian of 30.
I also got partial credit for negative/positive mix up because I graphed backwards when working out the problem.
Although one insisted that it be done correctly no partial credit if you did anything wrong. Oddly I think he did me more favors than the ones who gave me partial credit because he taught me to double check and I focused more and on standardized tests which are multiple choice you will know the right answer and doesn't matter if you pick the wrong sign still wrong. And when I need positive/negative numbers I'll be able to easier. So I feel like you're lucky to not recieve partial credit for a wrong answer no matter how off it is.
But some teachers do give partial credit.

Considering I've been studying physics for 6 years now I'd say I've been forced to like math, or at least accept it as an essential tool. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

However, once you start going beyond calculus and into some crazy proof classes things just get weird. I've never cared for that type of math.

I only like statistics. Calculus is not my forte, but I understand the basics of it. I use a program called R to code for statistical functions with the data I work with.

I used to love math, but then my Integrated Algebra class in 8th grade traumatized me. Now it makes me want to cry!

Other than statistics for my field (which is largely conceptual and the actual math is done by computer), the last math course I took was my junior year of high school. And I don't miss it. At all.

Definitely not. I always wanted to like math but it was just something I was never good at. I'm more of a humanities person for sure.

    I love math.

Saved all my calculus textbooks so I could enjoy some practice problems from time to time. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Same here. You either got it or you don't. No ambiguity.

What do you mean no ambiguity!? There are imaginary numbers! What is logical or absolute about that? Not to mention numbers like Pi, which are completely not absolute. You will never get closure with Pi. And don't get me started on negatives... what on earth is a negative? People say debt, but they don't actually have negative money, they have no money and somebody wants money they don't have.

Yet our calculations are pretty absolute; we can stick pi in an integral and get a real, finite answer :icon_wink Pi is so damn cool, though. There are these two brothers who constructed a supercomputer in their home and are using it to compute the numbers of Pi. If you assigned every letter of the alphabet to a number, and we assume that Pi is indefinite, then logically Pi would contain all of the books, poems, songs, etc. ever written. Again, AWESOME :icon_bigg

Hated it. I understand its appeal to others, but its just too dull to hold my interest. I've always been more of a right-brained person anyway. Give me a good creative writing exercise or improv poetry slam over a competition with mathletes any day

I just wanted to point out that we can make calculations that actually matter using imaginary numbers too, for example a second-order differential equation may have complex roots in the characteristic equation but still have a solution in the real numbers.

I use to love it and was quite good at it. My interest in it has gone down over the years and I don't think I can do some of the more advance stuff. I tried helping my friend with his trigonometry homework once and I was basically useless since I couldn't remember any of it.:bang:

Though, I like puzzles and a lot of puzzles involve math, so there's that.
