Should Boys Wear Speedos?

If you must wear something tight (I could imagine that board shorts aren't ideal when trying to actually swim), wear the long ones.

 

This. People should be able to wear whatever they want, so long that it doesn't seriously harm them or anyone else.

 

^ Well, the sight of the Speedo-clad does harm to my eyes...

I prefer trunks to Speedos any day, with one exception. If the guy in question could pull any look off, then it's likely he would look fine in a Speedo and keep my retinas at a state I like to call "not burnt to a crisp".

 

i have to agree on the argument on how they only look good on certain people. i like them even though i havent worn one i like to see them on muscular dudes with a medium bulge. lol i have moobs so i wudnt wear one but im working on the body for it(!)

 

Honestly, I don't think guys should wear speedos. Period. I really don't like them personally.

 

What's problematic here is the word, "should," and secondarily, the "beach body" bullshit.

"Should": This is a form of people policing each other. I'm sure many on here are all for freedom of expression, and saying someone shouldn't wear speedos is a major hypocrisy: it's projecting one's own tastes onto others. Basically, trying to control what is beyond one's control, for the sake of pleasing one's own self. (if you're into homogenization, then the word "should" would make sense to use)

"Beach body": Obviously related to what I typed above, but this definitely buys into the body issues perpetuated by... pretty much everyone.



Basically, people are able to wear swim briefs; sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.

 

I like the looks of swim trunks better, unless your name is Tom Daley, then you have to wear a speedo. (!)

 

Yes, they should if they want to. So what if they look ridiculous, at least Speedo's don't slip or fall off your waist. Athletes pull off the look well anyway so it's not a question of "should they" but "why shouldn't they".

Haters gonna hate: I think it's okay to judge a person's appearance. I do it all the time. I justify it by thinking that people shouldn't care what others think of them anyway, I know I don't.

 

Hot guys should be legally obligated to wear speedos, if you ask me

 

IMO speedos are just too much for me. I appreciate subtlety most of the time, all that ''less is more'' issue. I find someone with just the right clothes (lets say... a shirt and some boxers... maybe socks too) FAR more desirable than someone just wearing speedos .__.

Subtlety people, where are those beautiful values today?

However I am also one to promote free will.

 

It's a personal choice I can't control, but for myself I prefer trunks and looking at people in trunks. If you're going to wear Speedos why bother wearing anything.

 

It should be the law that they wear them!!! jk
