Can anyone recommend a good shonen or seinen anime? I like comedy and action.

This is sort of tangential, but I really want to find all the volumes of the One Piece manga so far. The scanlations I found are too literal and ruin a lot of the comedy.

I loved all those shows, Rumiko Takahashi is one of my favorite Manga authors. At first I didn't know those where made into Anime, I thought some of them where just Manga's for the longest time. I swear if Rumiko ever teamed up with Disney they would pull off some thing crazy awesome, Cause Disney has the music and she's a crazy good artist and writer.

I love music so much, some times I will watch an anime just for the musical score and no other reason: That's why I watched .hacksign because I love the music composed by Yuki Kajiura. I've watched so many Anime can't remember the names of all of them, but I love the music in a lot of them. Shiro Sagisu is another musical composer whom I like that does anime scores.

Just the other day I found out all of my most favorite Anime where directed by the same person, his name is Akiyuki Shinbo. In think the same studio made them all too. When I find out they where all directed by the same person I melted with happiness then I proceeded to frantically text every one I know at three in the mourning. lol I think I was drunk off of sugar and alcohol at the time, that and sleepy.

Rumiko Takahashi is my favorite manga author, hands down. She creates some of the most likeable, memorable characters I've ever read. When I discovered Ranma 1/2 back in 1997, the power with which I embraced it was borderline religious. I loved it and connected with it in a way I rarely connected with fiction. My passion has tempered with time, but I still love it dearly. In fact I'm so fond of it that I have trouble watching/reading/enjoying InuYasha. I always felt like Takahashi tossed Ranma 1/2 aside in favor of InuYasha; like she never bothered to finish Ranma's and Akane's story because she got bored writing the characters.

A lot of the anime based on her work has gotten a lot harder to find these days (good luck finding LUM at a price that isn't criminal) but there's been a resurgence of her older stuff in Japan just lately. Ranma 1/2 getting a blu-ray release (both there and in America) gives me hope that maybe some of her other stuff will see a resurgence here too.

I'm surprised that Takahashi's current series, RIN-NE, hasn't been adapted into an Anime yet. It's been running for a few years and as far as I can tell, no one has done a show based on it.

I agree with you about Anime music. I own almost all of the Ranma 1/2 OSTs (I'm missing two) and I've spent nearly 10 years listening to them on a regular basis. I love the music from the show/films/OVAs. Several different composers have worked on the show, but they all had great styles.

Elemental Gelede also has great music. The oft-used battle theme that merges ethereal vocals with techno is great. Heat Guy J has a similarly eclectic battle track that merges techno with the bagpipes. Good stuff.

 

I know it's mainstream, but I have to say my favorite on-going anime is Naruto. I just love the story a lot and i always get emotional.

I'll have to go back and listen to the Ranma 1/2 soundtracks, I remember liking one of the Opening's.

Now you got me wanting to watch Elemental Gelede and Heath Guy, I had never heard of them before till you said some thing. I'll Google them later. I so over abuse Google.......

 

Favorite anime is either Death Note or Junjou Romantica

I also liked Code Geass, Doctor Who, and Sherlock Holmes, though those last two where the first non-Anime I watched in a long time.

I like the xXxHolic Series allot too. Any thing that tends to involve what ever those might have in common, I am not seeing the common them, could be psychology or mystery though in Death Note we already know who the villain is because the villain is the Protagonist instead of the Antagonist.

 

Doctor Who is my favorite live-action TV show. Sherlock is great, too.

Sakura trick is a yuri romantic comedy and its still airing its up to episode three right now.

Story: its about two girls, haruka and yuu and their relationship. Haruka is kinda depressed because their school be closing after they graduate. So she wants to do something special with her best friend yuu, and what does she want to do? She wants kiss to her.

As for ecchi well the ending theme has some fanservice so beware

I wish some one would make a Who Anime out of the material from the classic show, and sort of modernize it with today's level of effects and story telling. I wonder why no Anime studios have ever done that, I mean imagine Japan and BBC teaming up, us Otaku would flip a biscuit... Though then I am reminded of "Tsubasa Chronicles" when I try to picture a Who Anime. I hate how that anime didn't really have an ending...

Eh, if it's just the ending theme I'll just skip that part.
I suppose I will look it up later too.

 

I think Log Horizon is a really good one. It's still going on. I do read lots of manga an manhwa. I'll post the list later. Erm I think strike the blood is good as well. To Aru No Railgun is also nice. Watching Wizard Barrister. I don't really watch animes, more into manga

I can't really say what is my favourite anime so far because I've enjoyed so many animes for so many different reasons. The ones that come to my mind though are Natsume Yuujinchou, Tsuritama, Inu X Boku SS and my 'new' obsessions Free! and Shingeki no Kyojin. From this winter anime season I like Hozuki no Reitetsu, it's freaking awesome! It inspired me to draw, I like Hozuki's character so damn much. I should start reading the manga, though. Oh, and Space Dandy is also very great, it's also airing right now. The bright colors and the music are just excellent.

 

Death Note is my ALL TIME FAVORITE ANIME!!!

 

Oh, wow, I only just yesterday discovered Princess Jellyfish. Attack of the Titans is going to have to wait. This anime is awesomesauce. *rolls*

 

I watch plenty of anime so choosing one favorite would be difficult.
Of course Death Note, Code Geass, Attack on Titan, SAO, Log Horizon etc are some of the best ones.
Aside from them I also loved Bakuman and Nodame Cantabile. Easy and gripping stuff.

I also recall Psycho-Pass and Requiem for a Phantom being particularly memorable ones.
For some good humor there's Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou. Hilarious

 

Sailor Moon can't be watched dubbed. It changes so much! In the Japanese, Zoicite and Kunzite are a gay couple. Haruka and Michiru are a lesbian couple; they're just cousins in the dub.

Pokemon Origins is my favourite anime.
Just thinking about it makes me want to go and buy it on DVD as soon as I receive my next pay!

 

I like to think I'm still fairly new to anime. I've been a Studio Ghibli fan for a while, but didn't like to watch anime TV series. I enjoy FMA, FMAB, and Cowboy Bebop, but couldn't find any others that I liked.

Then my sister's boyfriend got me into some that I really liked. First we watched Ao Haru Ride/Blue Spring Ride, which just ended. It made us fangirl so hard. Now we're in the middle of Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso/Your Lie In April, which also just ended. I find them to be kinda sappy and stuff, which is why I like them, I think.
