I wear a watch to work and when going out on the weekend. I have a brown leather Skagen, black leather Bulova, and a stainless steel Kenneth Cole. All were around $100 or less 7 or more years ago and have been very reliable. I match the leather to the belt/shoes I'm wearing or the SST one is versatile and more casual. I prefer the thin, fairly simple style. I also have a really old Lorus and Timex but they are more sport/weekend watches. The Timex is digital and I use it mostly for a timer. Funny story, I actually got that watch because an old crush had one like it and I guess I wanted to be like him. :icon_wink These are pretty much the ones I have. http://airwatches.com/watchesimages/skagen_skagen_men_s_brown_leather_strap_640lsl1.jpg http://c.shld.net/rpx/i/s/i/spin/image/spin_prod_213547601 http://www.discountwatchstore.com/assets/images/KennethCole/KC4333.jpg
This thread has me lamenting my beloved Seiko watch, which I sort of found on line, except that my leather strap had a finer grain. http://www.discountwatchstore.com/thumbnail.asp?file=assets/images/Seiko/SNE102.jpg&maxx=400&maxy=400 It was sort of like buying the cheapest house in a good neighborhood - quality brand, timeless design, and only about $100.
Oops, I didn't read the OP post and didn't realize this was an advice thread. Sorry for randomly jutting in.:icon_redf
I have this one https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/...v_O5eLZiRPwH5BMKLhYHuno0-N1mgOzTfJtpq8fU4Ovxw Everyone I know hates it but it is one of my most treasured possessions I like it because its different, but I don't know if you like stuff like that
oh, come on, guys. I want experiences and inspiration, not advice And pictures, we all want pictures My watch is so old though, that Casio doesn't have a pic online... ---------- Post added 8th Dec 2013 at 09:26 PM ---------- Does it come with a detailed manual?
Does it come with a detailed manual?
Yes, yes it does! But it is not that difficul to tell the time on it just takes a little practice. I still enjoy the amazed look on peoples faces when they ask me for the time and they see my fancy watch :eusa_danc
Baume & Mercier Men's 8752 Hampton Square Date Watch: Watches: Amazon.com This is the watch my Dad has - It was his 20th wedding anniversary present from my Mom. In my opinion it’s one of the nicest watches ever and I hope one day to inherit it. It’s classy and elegant. It’s the best of the best. Swiss craftsmanship at its finest. One of the things I like about it is that it isn’t flashy. No one would ever know how much the watch set you back, just by looking at it, unless they knew the brand. Not like the Ukrainian ministers who were sporting $10,000 watches and who made fun of the Polish Prime Minister for wearing a $150 Swatch. But yeah, if you haven’t noticed, I don’t like over complicated watches.
I'm not the one in the picture, but this is mine. I've had it since my freshman year of college. http://images02.olx.com.ph/ui/1/08/07/23400107_1.jpg
I have a sector watch, it's a sport swiss brand with a metal bracelet that i wear for daily use. My bf gave me a tissot with a brown leather strap last year as a birthday gift, i usually wear on occasions On very special occasions such as a friend's wedding, i usually borrow one of my grandfather's watches, he has two from the 1950's, an omega and a zenith and both are manual winding (you have to charge manually) if you are planing on buying a good watch, stick to swiss made watch and preferably an automatic one (no battery, relies on your arm movement) although it will be a bit more expensive Lately i fell in LOVE with some watch and i hope i can afford soon, it's an IWC petit prince for around 5500$ (only 1000 were made) , it's an expensive option but you can never go wrong with IWC, they are one of the best or you can look for a used one from a trusted seller you can also check longines and tag heuer, cheaper than IWC and they make amazing watches check as well antiquorum it's an an online watch auction house (prices may vary from 1000$ to millions of $s) you can find yourself a good catch there like a vintage gold omega for 1k there is also chrono24.com, they are specialized in re-sale of watches, i think they have biggest number of watches i have ever seen so far PS: I'm a watch addict and my bf thinks i need therapy with that matter hehe feel free to ask me anything ---------- Post added 9th Dec 2013 at 12:14 AM ---------- another catch at antiquorum Blancpain automatic with moonphase, date, month and day indicator ---------- Post added 9th Dec 2013 at 12:16 AM ---------- [/IMG]
I don't own one but I'd like to get one with a leather strap kinda like this one. Preferably an old looking clock. I think it'd look pretty sick
I tried...I broke a couple of teeth and it made my jaw cramp... On another note, yes, I have had my Swiss Army watch on at an even lower temperature, at minus 45 celsius and it has still worked!
I have a stainless steel guess watch but I REALLY love Michael Korrs watches he has some nice lookin men's watches
These ones look nice and simple First one is a mondaine watch, it's a swiss brand and they were designers of railway clocks Price range is between 200-500$ Or uniformwears, also have simple designs starting from 200$
I don't normally wear a watch, although I had to get one when I was an orientation leader at my university. I highly recommend this one. :icon_wink
I have several watches. I've got a knock-off Rolex perpetual, a real Seiko similar to this one: https://www.google.com/shopping/pro...pw&ei=a1mqUsOTDoaAqgH4oYGIBA&ved=0CIQFEKYrMB4 , and a black TokyoFlash Rogue. I prefer watches with an all metal band. And, Clockwork, I love the Binary Watch. Oh, and people get totally confused by my Rogue, even though it's dead simple to read (if you can read an analog watch)
this one Womon's Armitron Sports watch, only one I have not broken yet, had one for 6 years until the band broke and so I bought another one to replace it Women's Armitron Dual - Colored Sport Watch - Pi... : Target and then another one and analog fairly cheap just for special occasions when I dress up
I usually don't because I use my phone to tell me the time of day. But I own a Seiko and a Timex Ironman. Right now, both have dead batteries and because of the wat they are designed, I need to get a professional to change the battery. Of course, that is far from a priority for me lol, so instead, I've been wearing my sister's Ironman, which is actually nicer than mine (she doesn't ever use it...). In terms of material, the Seiko is stainless, and the Ironman are plastic.
