What age did you find out you were gay/lesbian?

I found out I was bi when I was like 17/18 years old. I was a late bloomer. Of course the signs were there much earlier.. like I've always been a tomboy (more in hobbies than in the looks department though, I have long hair, dress up, and wear make up). But when I was 17/18 I realized I was also attracted to girls.

 

My self identification process took a long time. I realised I like looking at guys at around 13, pieced it together when I was 16, fully accepted it a year later at 17.

 

I'm not sure, but the first time I remember being attracted to a girl was in 6th grade, so probably around 11-12? I'm still in the process of self-identifying though.

 

i found out i was a lesbian when i was 8 but repressed them till i was 9 and finally came out a month ago as 12

 

I had just turned twelve when I realized that I liked girls instead of guys.

 

I was 12 when I realized things weren't really clicking -- unlike a lot of girls were starting to develop huge crushes on boys, I wasn't into boys. But it wasn't until I was 13-14 I began to realize more and more that I wasn't straight and that I wanted to be with girls.

 

I didn't, because I'm not. I'm queer in other ways (I'm bi/pan and genderqueer). Please try not to be as erasive, unless you just meant to find out what age gay/lesbian folks found out they were gay/lesbian!

 

When I was 5 i had a crush on a girl in my class, and for many years I though I just liked girls but then I met this "guy" who ended up being a girl, I was 14 and thats where I discovered I was a pan, because I liked him as his transgender persona.

 

I sort of knew at about 11-12, but I definitely knew at 13 and began accepting myself at 14.

 

I had my first hints in 5th grade.

I had an epiphany in 6th grade.

I finally saw the puzzle mostly finished when I was 13.

The puzzle was complete by the time I was 15.

 

When I had my first gay sex was age twelve. When did I accept being attracted to guys? That was at age thirty five. I finally came out as gay at fifty.

 

7th grade was a year of a lot of epiphanies for me. Probably why my average GPA is now 3.5 instead of 4.0... Eugh.
I don't remember realizing much of a sexuality, since it's mostly limited to 2-D guys and girls, which means I have no need to tell anyone anything.
I realized something was "off" at the age of 8 or so, then stopped identifying as female at the age of 12, and finally identified as male at the age of 13.
I think I'm always going to identify as male from now on...

 

By the time I was thirteen I was pretty sure I was bi. I think I'm probably gay now. Looking back, there were definitely signs way before then though. I never wanted to be very masculine even when I was just still in elementary school. I also idolized David Bowie a ton.

 

When I was 5 my friend kissed me and I knew I liked girls. I didn't start to understand that I was gay until my teens and didn't start coming out until my mid 30s.

 

I only recently came to terms with the fact that I'm gay. People often suggested it, but I would get all defensive and try to fight them on it >)<

I'm glad I'm gay, although I just wish I had been able to come to terms with it sooner!

 

I was 8 yrs old and was kissin girls...my mom came into my room and caught me and her kissin and proceeded to try and beat the gay out of me....It didn't work but it certainly delayed things....I never again got anywhere near a girl for that purpose...but now that I am 40 yrs old...I now struggle with wishing I had just been strong enough to be who I was intended to be and not who others wanted me to be....I don't regret my life...but I def. wonder what my life would be like now had I just done my thing....I have to admit though...marrying my husband and having my two children are the best things I have ever done in my life

 

Well, I've had feeling for both sexes ever since I hit puberty. But didn't really come to terms with things and realize what it all meant until I was an adult.

I realized it at 15....didn't accept it till i was 21.

 

Around my 15th birthday. The summer before my freshman year of HS.
Lookin back it was obvious from like 10, I just didn't realised because I'd been primed by cultural and familial and religious expectations to believe I was straight.
