What are the most gay friendly countries?

That sounds about right

 

Canada, western Europe, Scandinavia are all 15 years ahead of US on most social issues, including this. Even "liberal" states like CA were forced into marriage equality by court order. The US is turning around, but it's way too glacial a process to call it gay friendly even today.

 

Northern and Western Europe, in general, have gay friendly countries I'd say

 

Where I live (England) is really gay friendly! But you still get the occasional group of morons, but they're a minority. Plus, I personally go out of my way to make them as hostile as they would like to make me!

 

My state is mixed. To my knowledge, there is recognition of same-sex marriage in some areas, but not state-wide yet. The same goes for protection laws. I happen to live in a part of the state where trans people have protection.

But specific countries, I heard New Zealand and Australia are nice. Iceland and Norway are two others.
