Halloween Music?

Discussion in 'Entertainment and Technology' started by Cassindra Starlight, Sep 18, 2013.

  1. I want stuff that evokes witchcraft, spooky forests and cemeteries, monsters, and everything else cool about the holiday. So far, this has boiled down to listening to the soundtrack from Nightmare Before Christmas in every language imaginable. I'd like to branch out, but have no idea where to start looking. Does anybody know of anything?

The clasic halloween song is 'Monster Mash' dont ask me who sings it though. Also check out 'The Legend of Wooly Swamp' by Charlie Daniels Band though its not technically a 'halloween song' it definitely has a halloween vibe to it.

Um how about "halloween" by the misfits.
Though it may be a bit to dark just a warning.

Ghost Town by the Specials is a song that always reminds me of Hallowe'en. Same with London Calling by the Clash, for some reason any skaish older punk band reminds me of Hallowe'en.

anyone will recognize it from Snatch.

So does Dragula by Rob Zombie, and a couple of NIN songs, and Marlyn Manson. Same with the World is a Vampire by Smashing Pumpkins...no idea why.

Night on Bald Mountain - Modest Mussorgsky

    Carmina Burana - Carl Orff

Well, if it's for a Halloween party I suggest Crystal Castles, they've got some creepy music, not Halloween themed though, but kinda creepy, and it's a nice beat to dance to.
CRYSTAL CASTLES - PLAGUE // WITH VIDEO - YouTube

Also try the Witch House genre, lots of creepyish songs there too.

This musical melodrama is set in a forest and is about a woman who has lost her husband, and later trips over his dead body. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

  9. How about just about anything by Danny Elfman? I know you said you have Nightmare Before Christmas, but what about the scores for Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, Corpse bride, etc?

Seriously, you're going for Bette Midler over this version?:

Personally for Halloween I mainly think of trashy, swampy, campy 50s B movie style rock'n'roll.

So anything by The Cramps fits the bill perfectly:

Plus the 1st album by The Horrors:

And then there's this, probably the first ever goth record if you want creaky, cavernous, cobwebbed-type vibes:

The soundtracks for the first three Silent Hill games are pretty good for Halloween music.
