Kinsey 5 is...

  1. Bi

    10.2%
  2. Gay

    67.3%
  3. Something else

    22.4%
  1. I identified as Kinsey 5. When I was in a little denial about my sexual identity back then, I just identified as bi. But now, I'm like "screw it."

According to the kinsey scale the fact that I've kissed a guy before means that no matter how gay I am - not that they matter but if we're going stereotypes my favorite show on Netflix is "Orange is the New Black", I've worked at a lube/oil/filter center, I have an acoustic guitar, and I love converse shoes - I can never ever get over a 5.

So yeah I think the way it's set up, 5 is gay.

I think Kinsey 5 is mostly gay. I am Kinsey 5 and I'm pretty much the gayest person I know. But, I guess it's down to opinion.

If the person wants to emphasise that they're bisexual and have some attraction to the opposite gender, then I'd call it bi. If the person doesn't consider that sliver of attraction very important, then I'd call it gay. Me, I'm still working out which I am.

I can't say much more than this. A label in a matter so complicated and undefined as sexuality is something you attach to yourself, not for others to decide on.

I think it's technically bi, but since it's more close to gay, a knisey 5 might call him/herself gay too. Whatever you think that fits you the most. However, being attracted to very few people of one gender could just mean that most of them are not "your type"...?

I found this on bisexualindex.org and it makes sense to me.
"The whole "Are you 50:50?" idea has a number of other problems:
If you find 40% of men attractive, and 60% of women, you might say you were 60:40. But if you find 15% of men attractive, and 45% of women, do you say 45:15 or 25:75?
If the people you meet on a daily basis are gender skewed (say you work in a gay bar) then the actual 'pool' of attractive people might be deeper at one end. The same 45:15 person we mentioned above might meet 9 attractive men, and one attractive woman. That's then 10:90.
Sexual partners? If you've had 5 long term boyfriends but 50 one night stands with women, then maybe you only found 5 guys attractive ever, but did you have more sex with them put together then all the women? (and how did you persuade them to be put together, naughty!)
And if you think in terms of more than 2 genders, it breaks entirely."
