Right now, my parents are reading an email similar to the one I sent my wife... Wife told her parents earlier. Does it ever get any easier? :bang:

Well, these are the most important ones, so coming out to others will be a piece of cake. (says a closeted gay, lol)

I'd like to think that when things get that tough there is much more room for things to improve. Try to focus on the fact that you're doing this for a reason- and you've accomplished something huge just by taking those steps.

Once you do the things that you fear the most, guess what? There's nothing left to be afraid of. Best of luck to you!

Everything went great. Parents seem to be very supportive. They weren't ready to talk about it yet, but the e-mail that I got back (and a couple of texts) was very positive.

It took a couple of hours to hit me, but suddenly, I FEEL AWESOME. Almost giddy. The walls that I built around myself are falling apart; there's sunlight and fresh air for the first time in what feels like forever. Without a doubt this is the best thing that I have ever done. The hardest thing that I've ever done, but absolutely worth it. :eusa_danc

I still don't like these things, but here's another round!

I'm really glad to hear that your parents are responding in a very supportive way! That's great news! It's always such a huge relief and in many situations parents are the hardest to tell. Great job!

Congratulations!!!! I'm glad it went so well for you with your parents!!

I definitely found coming out got easier as I did it more. You've got hardest parts done now. Out to yourself. Out to your parents. Out to your wife. You're on a roll. You can do this!

Honesty cuts through so many fears! Great job! Now on to the gay pride parade! Whip cream anyone??? (you know on the float... In the parade... Ok maybe I am just getting carried away here, but seriously that's awesome!)

Great! So happy for you! Love what Calcoast said "Honesty cuts through so many fears!" -- I want to add, that being honest, open, and vulnerable with people in your life creates the space for a deeper, richer relationship. That's been true for nearly everyone I've come out to.

    All the best - hugs!

INever lie to yourself, and never hold something in for so long...i found that out the hard way. Now im out, and i couldn't be happier. There always some people that will disagree, even family..but it does get better.
