    I am a MMA fighter.
Does anyone on here have any experience in MMA fighting?
If so what Martial arts do you do?

I have taken Judo Aikido Tai-Kwon Do Karate Kung fu and Durandas (a celtic martial art, only taught in scotland. Not well know at all)

I took Mixed Martial Arts for awhile. It was pretty eclectic as far as fighting goes. My sensei who was also my uncle mixed a lot of different fighting techniques. I was especially good at the Muy Thai kicks! He always praised me for that most, since I don't have much upper body strength.

My lower body strength is quite good though so I used that to my advantage in combat.

My boyfriend was awesome at capoeira before he became disabled and he actually got me quite enthousiastic, but I soon found out it´s not for me...
I´m better with tools and two feet on the ground. Or on my back.
Deep respect for anyone that is so swift.

Yeah, but it seems weird to go on holiday somewhere to learn a martial art. Meh.

If I thought I could afford it I'd go on holiday just for martial arts no problem...half my dojo has done it if you count a week long seminar in Japan as a holiday...

I used to be in Shotokan Karate. I quit when I was a brown belt because I just lost interest in karate.

I practice kyudo, Japanese archery, almost every day. I've been interested in martial arts, mainly the older/traditional styles. I'm pretty noncompetitive (I only want to compete with myself), so kyudo fits nicely since it is like standing Zen and focuses heavily on the ritualized form. Sadly, it is practiced by very few people outside of Japan, and my sensei is in California. Tomorrow, I'm going to meet with some local person who also studied kyudo and is himself an iaido master. It's going to be awesome!

@Hexagon, you want to tell us something about the MA you practice, or did you just show up to display your distrust and negativity?
I don´t think that counts as martial art yet.

That's rather passive-aggressive towards Hexagon, don't you think? Everyone has a right to state their mind. Don't call someone negative just because they find something odd..

Me personally, I don't think I have the patience to learn those things.. Plus I'm somewhat a bit of a pacifist.. Doesn't mean I won't beat you partmin :lol:
