LGBT News Russia: MP calls for law allowing gays to be whipped in public squares

Very few people imagined that Hitler would attempt to exterminate Jews until he actually started doing it (he also killed gays BTW). Also, Russia has a population of almost 145 million, and since gays will usually make up about 5-10% of a country's population, it's quite easy to deduce that there are probably way more gays in Russia than there were Jews in Nazi Germany.

 

My god this is disgusting! I can't believe that this is actually happening in what purports to be a First World country in the year 2013! Like, are you kidding me?

I was thinking of moving to Russia when I was older to work at the Kirov ballet company. Now I'm not so sure unless somehow this stops.

I'm wondering how many Russians actually hate gays, and how many are just trying to build up an impression. I met a Russian once who made a homophobic comment to me, but then he was suddenly "fine with gay people" when I responded by telling him that he should be careful who he runs his mouth to, as we were in a country where discrimination against gays and lesbians is widely frowned upon.
