Who is your favorite underground band?

Poets of The Fall is a really cool band. I am really surprised I had not heard them sooner than when I did.

Belles Will Ring, 78 Saab, Tame Impala (all Australian, alternative rock).
Patrick Watson, The New Pornographers (both Canadian, folk rock/alt-rock).
The Leisure Society (UK, folk rock).
Ulrich Schnauss (German electronica/chill out).

 

Fit For Rivals! The singer is a girl with a really sexy, gravelly voice, I heard one song on youtube and had to buy their whole album... :rolle:

It's no bother at all, but many of these bands are really well-known, at least in the UK. Like, Hot Chip were probably the biggest electro band around 5 years ago, although they've faded a bit now. And you can't turn on the radio or go in a shopping centre without hearing Two Door Cinema Club. And Facebook says 46 of my fb friends like Foals' page. It's all good stuff tho!

I'm a wanker and I was born several decades too early.

 

Foals are pretty hot right now. The concert I just attended this past Friday was completely sold out and we still had blokes trying to bust their way in. I wouldn't consider them 'underground' in the slightest.

I listen to an assortment of music, but I doubt I know anything too underground. But I can try.

School of Seven Bells is one not many are aware of. I'd also suggest Baths (though he's well known amongst the people I know), Dauwd, Boredoms, Daisuke Tanabe, Mux Mool, Soulution, Choir of Young Believers. Those are probably all known fairly well though, too.
