Who is your favorite underground band?

What constitutes an underground band? Just curious. I know quite a few bands that aren't that popular, but I would like to know before I make a fool of myself.

 

Ah! In that case 'Dirt Poor Robins', I heard them via Pandora, you can't find ANY of their songs on YT. Also, The Pierces, Darling Parade, and Icon For Hire.

They aren't really bands I guess. But they're unknown electronica groups.

 

Big Big Train! They're a prog rock band and the singer sounds a lot like Peter Gabriel.

 

A few bands:

Battles (my fav band, pretty unique, i dont know any band like it. Mainly Rock that is modern but with a few unexpected sporadic classic rock elements that hints themselve and hide. Well, actually i cannot label this band as it isnt a genre, this band uses genres instead of being them. Music that you can meditate or dance, serious and fun, energizing and relaxing... Pure awesomeness)(!) :music:
