The Scorpion and The Turtle

A scorpion, being a very poor swimmer, asked a turtle to carry him on his back across a river.

"Are you mad?" exclaimed the turtle. "You'll sting me while I'm swimming and I'll drown."

"My dear turtle," laughed the scorpion, "if I were to sting you, you would drown and I would go down with you. Now where is the logic in that?"

"You're right!" cried the turtle. "Hop on!"

The scorpion climbed aboard and halfway across the river gave the turtle a mighty sting. As they both sank to the bottom, the turtle resignedly said: "Do you mind if I ask you something? You said there'd be no logic in your stinging me. Why did you do it?"

"It has nothing to do with logic," the drowning scorpion sadly replied. "It's just my nature."

 

I knew there was a reason why I hated debates.

 

I like debates. So long as those who disagree with me can present a reasoned argument, and not have tantrums. And not argue with anecdotes.

 

That's just morbid >_>

 

I like them until someone gets offended and flies off the handle. And then I'm struck between feeling like an assshole and wanting to apologive and also feeling like a vindicative asshole.

Perhaps I'm too nice/passive about everything...

 

Well...I almost lost my job today for next year. Glad I didn't though

Brought up pride with my mom to see if I'd be allowed to go.

Hate talking about anything gay related with my mom, she's always dismissive about anything LGBTQ related. She barely takes me seriously as a lesbian- how the fuck am I supposed to expect her to take me being transgender seriously?
