It was played at the start and end of one of my best mates funeral... Very painful memories and i cant listen to it even to this day.
"All-American Boy" by Steve Grand This is actually a new song that's stirring up a lot of controversy, but I love it. The story it tells is so true
Hmm... I have quite a few, but some of the biggest one's would be: The "I" in Lie - Patrick Stump Everybody Wants Somebody - Patrick Stump Mad At Nothing - Patrick Stump (Yeah I know, he's just SO GOOD.) Golden - Fall Out Boy The (Shipped) Gold Standard - Fall Out Boy What A Catch, Donnie - Fall Out Boy Soul Sanctuary - Prince Purple Rain - Prince Babel - Mumford and Sons When I Was Your Man - Bruno Mars There are several others but I don't know who sings them or what they're called.
Nujabes - Force of Nature. The song is just lovely, I don't know why but it just makes me feel kinda happy and sad at the same time, its a lovely instrumental.
If You Go Away by Emiliana Torrini Gollum's Song by Emiliana Torrini Citadels by Galt Aureus Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey
That's because it's Nujabes and he was ridiculously talented. One of the most talented music writers of our generation, and nobody really knows who he is... kind of sad. I was unbelievably upset when he died(of a car accident in Tokyo) because that meant no more songs, and no one will ever create music like that again. The best musical producer to come out of Japan in my opinion.(maybe Dj Krush is up there) Happy to see Nujabes mentioned.
Here's a few I like. Human -The Killers Here With Me -The Killers After the Storm -Mumford & Sons Heroes -David Bowie (this one can destroy me, thanks to the Perks of Being a Wallflower) Statues -Alexander Desplat Lily's Theme -Desplat Where Is My Mind? -Pixies version and Yoav feat. Emily Browning version Asleep -Emily Browning Heartbeat -The Runaways
Hold You In My Arms by Ray LaMontagne. Basically any song by him. His voice is just so lovely and peaceful and just, ugh, I love it.
Steve Grand, All American Boy, hands down.... Totally lost track of how many times I've watched/listened to the "all American boy" video, but every single time I'm totally moved. This is the kind of song that invokes such strong emotions, for everyone (gay or straight) that it leaves you in a different mental state after watching it. Also, I keep noticing little things (things I didn't notice the first few times) in the song, and in Steve's voice that just wow me. How about the little crackling in his voice when he starts singing the phase; "Of all the girls and boys to look my way, Ain't no body ever hit me this way...", it just sounds so damn good! It really shows how much depth his voice has. Or how about the way he "draws out" the word "July" in the beginning... awesome. All-American Boy - YouTube
Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls I start crying nearly every time I hear it because of a dream I had, once. All I can see is me dancing with my future partner to that song.
Kettering, by the Antlers Little Lion Man, by Mumford and Sons Asleep, by the Smiths You're Still Here, by Poets of the Fall Origin of Love, and Wicked Little Town, from Hedwig and the Angry Inch and The Way I Am, by Ingrid MIchaelson (if for no other reason than it reminds me of an ex...) A lot of the songs that make me emotional do so because of specific memories I associate with them. Also, this. Not quite an emotional number for me, but on a similar note. It is the most soothing thing for some reason and I love it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giTob-5IENg
^ The poster above me, Kettering and Asleep make me really emotional, too. Others that get me going in the feels department are: "Heavy Water/I'd Rather Be Sleeping" - Grouper "Riverside" - Agnes Obel
"Oh My God" by Jars of Clay "Dosed" by The Red Hot Chili Peppers "Dear God" by Avanged Sevenfold Those are the only ones I can think of right now.
