    To start, I joined this forum in search of guidance. I don't know what to do, I have been in denial my whole life and I recently became honest with myself. Though, I may never come out to my family (due to their beliefs), I want to live a life where I don't have to hide. I want to make friends here, so I will start by saying Hi :slight_smile: .

    Hi and welcome, you have made a great start for guidance and support.
    Denial is very hard, and it's a load off ones mind when you start accepting your sexuality and opening up to friends and family, and you will find that what you are feeling is perfectly natural.
    Emotions running wild and not knowing what to do and how to do it is what every gay person goes through and now you have joined EC you will find that things will get easier the more confident you become.

There are excellent forums here to help find support, people you can befriend, and you can ask your questions and tell your story as life progresses. We'll listen.

    I'm glad you found EC. I'm in the same position you are--I've been denying my sexuality for my whole life and have just come out in the last few weeks--but I'm 42. I'm so happy for you that you didn't wait two more decades to be honest with yourself.

    I'm sorry it's tough with your family, but I'm glad you've started the process of being honest with yourself. I think you'll find it to be an immensely liberating and joyous experience.

    People here are great. They are able and willing to share their experiences and any advice they've gathered from their own journeys. This site has been a tremendous help and solace to me, and I hope it will be for you, too.

    I am the afraid of telling my family the most, I feel they will look at me differently once they know. I'm trying to save them from heartbreak as long as I can.

    Thanks, denial was actually harder than being honest with myself. Since I have joined EC, it feels like a new lease on life :slight_smile: .
