I think that's pretty accurate, I've certainly gone down from Authoritarian from when I was in high school.

This is my chart.

I'm a pretty conservative guy, especially by the standards of this board. Although this quiz has me as a die hard libertarian capitalist which is true but doesn't paint a total picture.

 

I'm not happ with my result x) I'm not a liberal person, but the questions refered to authorian problems that made it impossible to answer differently. Like the one about surveillance Cameras, ofc I'm sceptical towards that, and I also think you always should be sceptical towards everyone with power, but I STILL think I'm authorian socialist well well

You seem pretty liberal to me! Haha. As someone more towards authoritarian, I'm not skeptical at all about the surveillance cameras.. if it were up to me they'd have cameras on every street corner. I guess that's the kind of stuff that makes you more liberal than you'd like to be

Well, I think we read the word liberal differently from state to state. I am celebrating peoples privacy, I don't want people to have access to my private life, and I don't think it's about liberation but about our choice to be private. I absolutely don't concider myself liberal because I am all for government regulation on both each private person and on companies and laws. I want rules for waste separation, about none-profitable education, about non-profitable welfare.
About the cameras, I absolutely am 100% for security cameras on public places, but as I read the question I rememberd a statement a swedish politician made a while ago about schools and working places having surveillance Camera in their class rooms and offices so that the bosses and teachers could reasure themself that nothing has been stolen and that no one is slacking.
I think that's a different matter that has nothing to do with liberation or the goverment, but the work environment and the humiliation of working for someone who instantly doesn't trust you.

I think we are on the same page, but just interpreted the questions differently.

I've always liked how this compass attempts to rid the "Are you Right or Left?/politics is linear" garbage. Now someone just needs to add a "z" axis for Idealism vs. Realism.

Ideally, I'm in the anarcho-capitalist range (though I'd prefer anything along that bottom line to what we have now). In reality, I don't much care about economic issues, but will openly campaign for anti-authoritarianism on social issues.

 

Interesting. The only possible system worse than the current one.

 

Often times economic issues and social issues go hand in hand, though. (Dealing with) social issues influence(s) the economy, and (dealing with) economic issues influence(s) social situations.

*Also, according to your chart I'm progressive, which is actually in part how I usually describe my political views, so that's pretty accurate!

 

Depends on your analysis of its potential existence. Ideally, an anarcho-capitalist would claim the concerns of a left-anarchist would not be something to worry about, and that their system would go forward without degrading into a system with an "elite class" manipulating the rights necessarily given by a non-aggression axiom that anarchist systems require.


Which is why I only see that as an unachievable ideal. One could poke holes in the other anarchist systems too, if you want to. In the end, realistically, I'm just anti-authoritarian in regards to social issues.

Also, the only one worse than the current system? You'd prefer fascism, would you? :lol:

See, that's why they need a z-axis for Idealism v. Realism. Realistically I'm inclined to agree with Hexagon on anarcho-capitalism. Ideally I'd prefer it if everyone else equally agreed it would be the best system (a near impossibility - but again that's an ideal :lol.

 

The second time I took the test I came out dead centrist, libertarian; just a bit left of Neal Boortz.

 

The concerns of anarchists are not limited to concerns about an elite class will emerge. The very nature of a capitalism economy is intrinsically oppressive, forcing people to either work or starve, which isn't a free choice at all. Furthermore, anarcho-capitalism isn't really anarchism at all. If anarchy is to be defined as "a political philosophy which opposes all forms of unjust and unnecessary hierarchy", then ancaps can't be anarchists, because they advocate a hierarchical system of bosses and employes.

Well, I suppose I might have exaggerated a little.

I don't think anarcho-communism or the other anarchist systems are simply ideals. Some examples of them have been seen in history, and while they may be difficult to achieve, particularly from the kind of starting point we have today, I see no convincing reason why they couldn't occur.

 

I think the Political Compass is BS. It doesn't distinguish between holding a moral belief or preference and wanting to force it on others through the state. Also, some of the questions are just nonsense ("Astrology accurately explains many things." What does that have to do with my political orientation?)

My score is 4.50. -4.72, but I personally identify as an anarcho-capitalist. How that's supposed to make sense, I don't know.

 

I took the test again and got a much different result (last one was about a year ago.)

It's still just an opinion whether or not that's worse than what we have now, though. I think the statement in bold is, for the most part, exactly what a society should work like. You are apparently very much opposed to the idea. So for you this particular political range would be worse than what we have now; for others it may be exactly what they agree with.
