I would go so far to say that I am pro-abortion, not merely pro-choice.

    I voted mixed.

I see it as the woman's choice as it is her body that is going to experience everything from start to finish.

However, I believe the choice should be made ASAFP because once the fetus begins to function I cobsider an abortion to be morally wrong. When the fetus can hear, feel, see light, etc. it can feel the pain of abortion and that's just not ok for me to condone. An early term fetus is not much to look at and isn't exactly functional, so I think an early term abortion is acceptable.

Condoms, birth control, plan B should all be used and abortion should only be plan Z.

I don't think it should be illegal. It should be regulated to ensure the women are treated in a healthy and sterile environment, and clinics should be policed to be sure no live pre-mature babies are thrown in trash cans or tied up in plastic bags and left to die. That last sentance just made me feel sick.

The fetal pain thing is a myth created by the Right-To-Life organizations. Any OB/GYN and any neurologist will tell you that the nervous system doesn't develop until the 27th-30th week of pregnancy, at which point abortion is illegal in the United States, so no, a 20-week fetus cannot feel pain.

I am female and 100% pro choice. Pregnancy happens even when using protection. I support women to have the right to be in charge of their fertility. Pro 'life' is effesncially anti-choice.

How would you feel if that choice was taken away from you?

I am prochoice, but I would like to minimize the total number of abortions through methods previously mentioned like contraception.

I think that's what almost all pro-choice people believe. I don't think anyone likes abortion, but it's a necessary action to prevent suffering. Contraception is far, far better, and should be provided by the government to those who can't afford it.

Male, and very much pro-choice. A woman has a right to do whatever she wants and people need to stop putting their religious dicks in their life. It just amazes me that most people who are trying to ban abortions or putting heavy laws and restrictions on things like this are men. What the shit?

Male and pro-choice. I tried to read through most of the comments but there are just too many... so sorry if I repeat anyone.

    Reasons for abortion:
    1. Like many people have stated already, a woman's body is her choice (this will correlate with the following points).
    2. Sometimes an abortion is beneficial. You don't want a 16 year old ruining her life and her child's in a financially and emotionally unstable household.
    3. Rape. Self explanatory.
    4. The availability of abortions doesn't equate to a sudden increase in abortion rates (as proven through research). People aren't going to brainlessly have endless sex and endless abortions.
    5. This I think is the most important one-
We don't choose to be born. You didn't choose to be come into existence, you just popped out. We don't have a say on whether we live or die inside the womb. Therefore, saying that abortion is killing a life doesn't mean anything. The aborted child never got a say in his/her existence, just like we never had a bearing on our births.

But with that said, stay safe people.

No opinion. It's difficult to come to a decision until the point when it's either this or that. So...I'll stay neutral about it.

  17. I've noticed something. Pro-life people generally oppose abortion because they consider it murder, as they feel the fetus is alive. However, they are often willing to grant an exception for rape. So, by this logic, it's murder if it was "honorably" conceived, but it's not murder if Daddy was an evil person. That's pretty fucked up, and sounds insulting to the children of rape victims.

Granted, I'm pro-choice, I'm just pointing out a common point of view that really disturbs me.

So pretty much no one will read this, because of the 13 pages, but just my two cents.
I honestly wish I could be pro-choice. Because so many of my friends are.
But I was almost aborted as a fetus. Whenever I hear about someone getting an abortion, I just think about myself. That was almost me, not existing. And I like existing!
