I agree that we can't underestimate people, because anything could happen that turns the tide against us.

However, conservatives have been losing quite a bit of credibility in the past few years and the Tea Party nonsense is dying down quite a bit.

Plus, it needs 38 states to pass it. 13 states allow Same-Sex Marriage, and a good number offer civil unions. And some states that have hardly any laws for LGBT that are good or bad - New Mexico for instance - would be inclined to vote against it.

At this current moment it doesn't have a chance, I'd personally argue.

This is somehow frustrating on an entirely different level.
Since when has there been a constitutional amendment TAKING AWAY people's rights?
This is ridiculous. And it's BS that he even says it's about the children.

Ok this is just beyond stupid. Can the House Republicans please put their time and effort towards something besides LGBT discrimination? I mean what about the national debt, immigration reform, issues in the Middle East... they need to get over this and start solving REAL problems.

They called us hypocrites for challenging an unconstitutional law, then try to pass another unconstitutional law to "defend the constitution".

Ironically, they say the same thing. Republicans say that we have so many other problems and we shouldn't be trying to make marriage equal for everyone. Yet they spend so much time and money protesting marriage equality, at the same time as complaining about "big government". I just don't get it.

given that the supremecourt has basically declared gays a protected class, it is unconstitutional to pass such an ammendment.

also, to admend the constitution, you would also have to have 2/3rds of the state ratify the admendment.

the republican party represents every evil every religion on earth (accept the church of satanisem, which embodies the same princibles of the republican party thanks to their common ancestor; ayn rand) denounces.

This is the sounds a political party makes as it dies. They are in the spazing out stage now. They want to cling to the 1950's, and the rest of the country is moving on. We are winning over their buybull's idea's YAY for us and freedom.
