right now, where I live, I have sunlight ALL THE TIME!! ehh. happens every year where I live. what do you guys think of sunlight all day and all night?
Hmmm, could be fun for a short while. Does it coincide with winter or summer? It'd be fun if the weather was mild, but if it's freezing it'd be crap I guess you've just gotta have good curtains and strict routine.
I think it must be absolutely horrible. No offence to your home or anything, lol, but I'm not fond of the sun. It hurts my eyes.
I've never experienced but it would definitely be interesting! I like where I live but can get depressing in winter when it gets dark as early as 4, but in summer it will be light out as late as 10!
Born and raised in AK so totally used to it. Though there are mountains in my neck of the woods that block the sun itself for part of each night. Todd
Matt, you should change your mood to- drumroll please- Sunshine! Not cheesy at all. I wouldn't mind, except I'd need to sleep in the basement for it to be dark enough to sleep. What about when you have darkness 24/7?
It would be fun for a few days. Especially if it was overcast so I could go outside without getting burned. However, I'm a night person so I could only handle it for a couple of weeks tops.
My DNA is not designed for that. If you are an Inuit you have adaptations I don't have. My biological clock is set for 35-42 degrees latitude. But man I would push it to adapt to 30 degrees latitude.
Where in Alaska are you? I thought the populated parts were south of the Arctic circle. Unless you're living on Svalbard or something, it's not blazing sunlight at 1am and it's not complete darkness at 1pm. This is Tromsø at 2pm in December: (image far too big, so I've just linked it) http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_sR45ABBWMyE/TRER6mJPVAI/AAAAAAAAA3M/D-bpcx0XROg/s1600/DSC_2262.JPG Nevertheless, it can still be pretty depressing! In Scotland, the sun sets everyday of the year but not for long at this time, and it doesn't get completely dark. By mid-June there's perhaps only an hour or two where it'd be impossible to read a book outdoors. Even in the far south of England there's a glow towards the north, although I don't think it's too noticeable.
I would hate it! I wouldn't be able to sleep. It has to be pitch black for me to sleep. And plus I like nighttime
I probably wouldn't really notice or care, I think. I mean, I was 15 before I noticed that the sun rises and sets at different times of day, and I've lived in Saskatchewan all my life.
I've been to Alaska where it was 20 hours of full daylight, and 4 hours of partial daylight. I loved it...unless I needed to go to sleep. Then it got kinda of annoying.
I live in SoCal, where it is sunny all the time from March to November. In December to February, we have a 50:50 ratio of rain and sunny days. I wouldn't mind a lot of sunshine in the winter time though. However, since it never rains (occasional light drizzle) in the summer, it gets very hot and dry. So I wouldn't mind some all day darkness in the summer.
