I get this but at the same time, you might as well just strap in and enjoy the ride because it is not going to slow down at all. Besides, though the responsibilities are like "woah, where did you come from?!" overall, it's literally what you make of it.

In my experience, very few older people bother on telling you what to do because:

    1. They understand you need to do this on your own.

    2. They assume you think you're "immortal and all-powerful", as all early twenty year olds, so they dont see the point in advising anything to a "rank-arrogant" child.

    3. They're jealous.

Anyways, eventually you'll get the hang of it and be positive. For all you know it MIGHT not suck for you. I can't tell you how many people I know expected the world to shift beneath their feet and got nothing inreturn while others who just made it work for them, got everything and then some.

You are only as old as you feel.

Whats that sonny? Speak up! I can't hear your tiny text all that well! *adjusts bifocals* OLD? Ha! You whippersnappers with your fancy hash tags nowadays! We didn't have that google twitting metube face-space who-hah you kids take for granted! Everything now is "light speed this" and "giga" that! When I was your age it took us over 2 hours to pirate a Nirvana song on Napster with our 56K modems! And we liked it that way! Gave me time to enjoy my Windows 95 maxing out its cache memory booting up a game of Warcraft 1! And guess what? DOS knew what we wanted 20% of the time; unlike Windows FU or whatever we have now. You also couldn't scratch a floppy or a VHS tape like these flimsy disk things! We imported quality crap back then! And why did we have to change from colonies to states anyway?! What were we first discussing? Um... *gets on her scooter and wanders aimlessly in Wal-Marts parking lot looking for the entrance*

  5. These seems strange. I'm about to turn 20 and it's no different to any other age for me - didn't even occur to me.

I've always felt like that on my birthdays. I'm trying to change that though. Years from now our current age will seem so young to all of us. We just got to appreciate it though while it's there and not always be thinking about the past. Everyone gets older, everyone is going to be 20 or has been 20, don't feel so bad, we all share that experience.

Happy Birthday! 20 sounds much better than 19 in my opinion anyways!

I started using a walking stick when I was 16. How old does that make me?

Hahhh I felt the same way when I turned 20, it sounds so... OLD when you're used to somethingteen. Even on my 23rd birthday a week ago I felt like this. But hey, we're still not too old to die young
