Canberra seems so damn prissy. If you were to walk around and jokingly call someone a cunt, every man, woman, and child would glare at you, as if you just kicked a puppy.

Glad to live in the land of wogs and bogans. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

"Go hard or go home" mentality which is frequently seen throughout the south here, so Canberra seems kind of.. well yeah, normal compared to some of us. You know when cunt, or eshays is frequently displayed throughout youth culture here.

Our PM makes me laugh though. Tripping over her own feet, and broadcasted across the world. You go Julia. You are the embodiment of Australia.

I loved it when Julia did an interview on Triple J! I suddenly really liked her! Better than Tony Abbott!

I don't really know anything about her, but that fall was pretty hilarious :roflmao:

I dislike both. Though, when Julia labeled Abbott as a misogynist and gave that speech, I had to give her some props. That was pretty liberating on her part.

...yeah, cant say that i get or like that about Aussie culture. even if i become an Australian citizen one day, i'll never become a "true blue Aussie". :rolle:

It's frequently displayed throughout youth, adults don't carry the same mentality. It's more so blown out of proportion due to stereotypes though.....

How about Kiwiland? They seem like a nice bunch. Don't know how double citizenship works though.

my impression of Aussie culture is based largely on the media and people around my age or older, so it seems to me that similar jokes are prolific throughout Aussie culture, even if young people take the vulgarity to another level. i see it as a uniquely Aussie thing that will forever be beyond my realm of understanding.

i went to Kiwiland (Christchurch) for a week. it was nice, although i wasnt there long enough to learn anything of the culture.

Would that be "The One and Only Universe," one of "X" number of theoretical universes to needed to make string theory work (I forgot the number), or one of an infinite numbers of universes?
