Florida DJs May Face Felony for April Fools' Water Joke Worse Than Rubio's - Alexander Abad-Santos - The Atlantic Wire I dont want to live on this world anymore... I feel sorry for anyone here who lives in Florida... or at least that region
The sad truth is that these people probably got all pissed off and panicked, and got on facebook to tell their neighbors to "stop drinking that water - your going to get hurt!" (I've seen the you are/your problem way too much today.) All of that time spent...when someone could have easily googled it. Sigh...
Yeahh, just for anyone who reads that last bit, I was listening to opie and anthony this afternoon and they basically sent all their listeners there this morning to vote "never", just to be wiseasses. The poll at least isn't showing any real public outrage because of their stunt, because the only people "outraged" about the stunt are the utility company. Kind of amusing, really. =p
Omggg. My teacher was prank one of my class about DMHO. We tried to figure it out for hourss. I'm gonna missed my class
We had a debate about this in middle school science class. xD Those DJs shouldn't be punished though. It's not their fault the listeners didn't know or didn't have the thought to google something.
If they told them that there was something *wrong* with the water and that their listeners *shouldn't drink it*, then maybe they should be punished. If they only told listeners that there was dihydrogen monoxide coming out of their taps, then they shouldn't be punished for the stupidity of their listeners.
Hasn't this happened before in like more progressive areas, and people got all fussy for a day till they realized it was a joke. Fortunately then it wasn't Floridian and they weren't prosecuted for a (harmless) joke/pun. Yeah my chem teacher had a bunch of those handed out around now; we figured it out in like a few seconds but you can't always expect people to have a high school education. Kind of sad, but it's reality.
The world is dumb, the prank was kinda clever . Obviously far cleverer than their listeners. It reminds me of the time when I goot detention for yelling "Your Epidermis is showing" to this twerp (He was homophobic in a debate) at school. Epidermis is the medical term for skin
Wow... I remember joking about "Dihydrogen Monoxide" being water since grade 8; I must ask about the education system they have there. :/
