Typically lesbians are associated as being big old cat lovers. To be fair though, loving cats is a stereotype for women in general so the fact that it became associated with lesbians is no real leap. If you're not a crazy cat lady of a spinster, you're a crazy cat lady of a lesbian. It's like flannel shirts, I don't really get why that's a stereotype for lesbians as I see a lot of women wearing flannel shirts who are far from gay and yet the stereotype persists.

A lot of lesbians own cats, just like a lot of lesbians wear flannel, and happen to be vegetarian, with a dose of feminism/social justice for good measure (or at least those who are vocal and therefore easily identified as being lesbian) and so the stereotype of the flannel wearing vegetarian cat lover who is very outspoken about their feminist beliefs was born.

    Amongst others.

I really like sports, and animals. I also don't dress particularly "girly".

  5. I want to have sex with other men (I understand that's very stereotypical for a gay male).

I can't for the life of me figure out how to apply eye makeup and lipstick without making myself look like a clown. My idea of dressing up is putting on my nice jeans.

I love art of all types. Sappy romance movies are amazing, same with books. I was caught listening to gaga. My closet is arranged for seasonal fashions, even though I don't like shopping. Other than that, I have to literally spill out the bomb that people never expect. Oh, my hair and skin routine is flawless.

Honestly, I'm such a stereotype at times, it's sad. I don't have a girly voice or anything physically which makes you think "oh he's gay" (Although I am slim)

But man, I play the flute, listen to musicals/ broadway singers, going into nursing, and I have an obsession with food.... ._.

Dress shoes on non-phys ed days and hair that looks like it has highlights even though it doesn't.

Trans, in guy mode I tried to be really macho. I wouldn't touch the yummy fruity cocktails at the bar, just a beer for me. I'm definitely gender binary too.

Preference, chuck taylors, I like women's basketball

Oh good Lord. This thread was made me for.

I like fashion, gardening, art, hair, I have the gayest taste in music (Gaga, Marina and the Diamonds, Florence + The Machine, Lana Del Rey), I'm a theater geek, and am a huge band geek. BUT I don't have a lisp or the 'gay' body language.

Hmm, I guess I'm not stereotypical at all, except one thing - I LOVE Broadway (and off- and off-off Broadway) theater, and I live in the perfect city for it (sadly, haven't had much time or finances over the last few months - only seen a few - but what I consider abnormally low would probably be more than most would see in a YEAR!)

I don't have a gay lisp, feminine voice, or anything like that - I can do it if I try, but why? Very occasionally a very gay voice will come naturally to me.

I love sports, particularly baseball (pitchers and catchers report tomorrow!!!!! Can't wait!), am overweight, have no fashion sense whatsoever, and work in technology. So yeah, not your stereotypical gay guy by any stretch.
