If you are an athlete or are very active when you were young then yes. You can break the flesh down there and never have noticed. In some countries that is considered a sacred virgin identifying tool and women will pay money to have it 'fixed' Or replaced so that the next time they have sex it will break.

Scary isn't it what people are willing to do to be socially accepted.

I think if you have a hymen that's not fully worn away or torn or whatever it's really hard... At least that's what I noticed. Like when I first started periods I was like "what is this unholy length of cotton and why won't it work properly" but now it's more like "why must we bleed out every month and have to insert unholy lengths of cotton inside us"

ANYWAY.. I found that using either vasaline or lube and a cardboard or plastic inserter thingy tampon works a lot easier. Also try crouching, or putting one leg up on the toilet seat (obviously do this at home when you have time) and make sure to relax. I googled stuff and I found out that tampons are nearly impossible to use if you're tensing up your down-there muscles.

And now I feel a whole lot too feminine and I'm gonna go read some comics and do some pressups.. (I kid, obviously  )

I used to do competitive dance, so I had to start using tampons right away when I got my period (I was 10). It could just be that you're nervous. Sometimes it's hard to relax the muscles down there. If you still can't get the tampon in it might be worth going a gynecologist just to make sure everything is alright. I'm guessing you just have a thick hymen and there is not enough room to put the tampon in.

lmfao I just think it's a better solution than surgery which can be costly and problematic.

Okay, so I tried this evening and still couldnt get it up. I got it a little way in and it really started to hurt. I then decided to see if my hymen was intact and it looks like it is. The tampon aint going up there! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Oh well... I guess I'll hav to be gross and stick with pads. Meh... :/

BoiGeorge: Can you talk your mother into taking you in to a gynecologist? Does she know you are trying to use tampons?

These still have to be inserted past the hymen, so I don't think they will address BoiGeorge's problem, if the problem is hymen-related, as seems to be the case.

The DivaCup seems like a neat option. Plus, you save lots of $$ spent on tampons/pads.

At one point I beat my face into a wall until I passed out after I tried to help and googled alternate options to a tampon and came up with the Mooncup.

The most important thing that I learned through all of this was that vaginas are complicated and that yes, I am definitely gay.

Hahaha! I'm not even gonna try and google that.

Lol I like vaginas, just not when there's blood pouring out of them

Ok I'll observe this thread from a distance again now.
