Tekken 2 & 3 Super Mario 64 (DS) Super Mario Galaxy basically all the mario kart games the Tomb Raider 2 theme is outstanding
Oh my god, that game creeped me out so much. As far as soundtracks go, anything but Super Smash Bros Melee. My ex decided to go pro, so I sat and watched him and our friends play for several hours every day. I hear it in my sleep sometimes, it's horrible.
I really enjoy anything Square/Square Enix puts out as far as music goes. I really love the Kingdom Hearts soundtrack. I also like Final Fantasy Tactics. I really love Zelda music too. Chrono cross made some great music as well as Okami.
as far as whole soundtrack Silent Hill 3 - and it came with the soundtrack CD! But Kingdom Hearts has best SINGLE song from a game with Simple and Clean
Best start to a thread I've seen in years. I am personally a very big fan of Nobuo Uematsu's work in the Final Fantasy series, quite possibly my favorite video game composer of all. It's hard for me to narrow myself down to a single favorite video game soundtrack, though; I tend to lift my favorite pieces out of whatever they come from. If I had to choose, though, I would probably go with Final Fantasy VIII's soundtrack. It was the first Final Fantasy I played on my own and the first video game soundtrack I owned, so it's got a lot of old, fond memories attached to it... especially the quoted “Fisherman's Horizon.” Other favorites include the music of the Kingdom Hearts series as well as some of the tracks out of the Assassin's Creed series... and a lot of the old-school, Generation I Pokémon music. I grew up in Pallet Town. And for fun... a song that would probably not be on anybody's list. ^_^ White Knight Chronicles - “Rocco's Thanks”

The Halo and Mass Effect games have got terriffic soundtracks; Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic has got a pretty good original soundtrack when NOT reusing Williams' score
The only one I haven't seen mentioned that I like is music from Metal Gear Solid. But most of it brings back memories from the game, SO EPIC AND INTENSE. But Silent Hill, Donkey Kong Country (1,2,3), Final Fantasy 8 & 10 ermahgerd so good
All of the old Capcom fighters (X-Men Children of the Atom, Marvel vs Capcom, X-Men vs Street Fighter, etc etc) and Megaman X games have catchy tunes despite being simple and synthesized. I LOVE Halo's soundtrack and the soundtrack of the Knights of the Old Republic games (the original music, not the reused stuff from the Star Wars movies, although those are epic as well). But my two all-time favorites have to be from Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories (PSone) and NieR (360/PS3). ESPECIALLY NieR.
Thats a hard one ... Lots of great composers and great music to pick a single one so I would say: Final Fantasy series .. the Final Fantasy VI is a favorite .. but Final Fantasy IX is also close both by "Nobuo Uematsu"... Chrono Series is also good .. especially Chrono Trigger .. both by "Yasunori Mitsuda" ... Hitman 2 Silent Assassin's and Assassin's Creed 2 .. both series had great music but those two are my picks for favorites .. both series (Hitman up to Hitman Blood Money and Assassin's Creed up to Revelations) are by "Jesper Kyd" ... Bastion had a great soundtrack as well .. by "Darren Korb" ... Shadow of the Colossus by "Kow Otani" ... And a lot more .. and those are just the favorites that I consider really great .. the good list goes on and on ... So over all .. I would say my overall favorite composer is "Nobuo Uematsu" .. simply due to the sheer level of single favorites that I find littered across his works .. even in his least favorite work -to me personally which is Final Fantasy VIII- I can still find more then a couple of favorite tracks "Fishermen's Horizon", "Maybe I am a Lion", "The Extreme", "The Legendary Beast", "The Man with the Machine Gun" just to name some of the favorites out of my least favorite work of his .. and that says a lot ...
The Mario Galaxy series has amazing music. Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts have awesome scores as well. I like the Pokemon soundtracks too. Okami has an absolutely godly soundtrack, as does Chrono Trigger. Xenoblade is pretty awesome in this area too. I'm probably forgetting loads of stuff, but that's all that comes to mind right now...
