For those who have come out to your parents..

I came out a few years ago, and hadn't even heard of EC, sooo...

 

I came out to my parents about 7 years ago. waaaaay before I ever even heard of EC lmao. I just joined a few weeks ago lol.

 

I think it was two weeks after joining..

 

I came out to my parents maybe 2 and a half years before I joined EC. I came out to my mum as questioning if I was trans about 3 and a half years ago, and then a year later, came out properly to both of my parents. My sexual orientation came up in that conversation as well, although they had probably been speculating for years that I wasn't straight.

 

I'm not sure how to come out really, and I'm not sure what reaction I'll get either

 

I told my friend about a week or so after joining here (mainly because my brand-new gaydar picked her up) but otherwise I haven't told anyone so guess I'm still wandering through Narnia. I've only been here for two-three months though, so here's to the future

 

Well good luck to all of you guys who are still coming out. I know how hard it is but once you do, it is as if the worlds gravity just turns off! lol

 

I came out to my mom 3 months (give or take a few days) after I found EC. Only a week or two after I went on chat, where the people made a convincing case for accelerating my original schedule (which was: I'll tell her when I send her my wedding invitation )

Of course, that's relative. I did lurk again on and off (followed the forum for two or three days, then ran away to the safety of the closet) for about 6-8 months beforehand. I only joined a few weeks after I came out to my first person.
So even if I wasn't part of the full experience, you could say 9 months - 1 year would be a valid response too.

 

I came out to my mom just a few weeks shy of my 2 year EC-versary. Add that to the lurking I did on EC prior to joining and it would add up to almost 3 years.

 

I came out before I came here. To be honest, I kind of regret it. Not in general, just to my mom.

 

I came out to my mom before I got on EC. I told her when I was 17 and got on EC 5 years later.

 

Joined EC some time in November 07, came out to parents early January 08. Would have been around 2, maybe 3 months.

EDIT: Guess it was actually October that I joined. I think I created an account and then didn't come back for over a month at first.

 

Almost two months after finding EC i told my mum officially. Even though she already had a pretty strong idea.

I came out to my mum before I joined EC. I don't really remember when but it could have been about more than two or three years or maybe even longer...I think when I was about 19 or 20..But like I said, I don't really remember...But I don't have come out to other members of my family yet, for example my dad or grandma, aunts, uncles, cousins etc. (I don't have any siblings) because I'm not 100 % sure of my sexuality yet. When I come out, I often tell that I'm still not so sure or something like that.

I joined EC in October last year and I read threads here almost every day. I like this forum and it's always interesting to be here.

 

I had seen EC pop up on google search results before I came out to my parents, but I only actually joined today, and came out about a year ago.

 

Well I wish I knew about EC when I was growing up. But i have come out to my folks way before I discovered EC.

 

I don't remember exactly, but I was out to my immediate family and close friends before I started using EC.
