That one does the job for me, too, but when I need something with more energy and way more power, I go with this one. Many of you, I'm sure, are familiar with folk music. Most of you, hopefully, are also familiar with metal music. Marry the two and you get the beauty and wonder that is folk metal, and this is one of my favorites from that genre. I gets me so amped up whenever I listen to it. It's brought me close to skipping in the streets a couple of times; it makes me that happy.
YES! MuteMath is one of my favorites. I saw them in concert with Neon Trees and 30 Seconds to Mars. It was an insane show, and I recommend all three of those bands. ("Typical" is a great song, and I'll definitely second it.) Gaga's "Marry the Night" has been getting me pumped lately. "Private Helicopter" by Harvey Danger. "It's Been a Blast" by Hey Mercedes. (I always start my 5k runs with this song. It really gets me going.)
"La Marseillaise" (the version by Mireille Mathieu. Yes, I know it's nerdy.) Or "International Love" by Pitbull.
I'm not a great music aficionado, but anything by P!nk is usually enough to do the job. Especially the one in the video where she goes around beating people up, or where she wants to set a house on fire. I must be a secret rebel/juvenile at heart.
YES! HELLOOO, new best friend! I'm assuming he does it at all shows, but did the drummer tape headphones to his head? My jaw dropped when he started doing that, but he played like he MEANT it. He threw his drums off the stage at the end of their set. I loved seeing them, I hope to do so again very soon.
He has to because they'll fall off otherwise. Even his simplest drum beats are incredibly intricate and intense. Darren King was one of my man-crushes even before I knew I was gay. If you want to be blown away by drumming, watch this video of one of their songs (which also gets me pumped up): Reset - MuteMath
