Gay adoption fails in Slovenia referendum

    Kind of ironic that every organisation that has "Family" in their name is a group of absolutely disgusting individuals.

    Yeah, it's a shame these 'family' associations are all over the non-anglophone world as well. :/

    Apparently the general Slovene population supported the law, but the turnout was about 20%.

    That's my amazing country...

    The worst part is that the main goal of this referendum was providing children with more benefits, better homes (providing them with better alternatives over abusive families they might be in), giving them more rights and "safety precautions", if for example biological parent dies, the other non-biological parent/ biological parent's partner can take care of the child.

    But only because there was 1 point in the referendum, which would allow homosexual partners adopt a child from their partner (biological parent of the child) to help the example I stated above, there were HUGE discussions about it, where everyone was focusing solely on that one point and eventually it was overthrown.
