For some reason, a much larger proportion of men enjoy porn than women. Even when companies have tried making porn specifically for women, it never seems to catch on in the same way porn made for men does.

Ditto lesbian porn made for lesbians. It's almost nonexistent; almost all lesbian porn is made for hetero men, and the few companies that produce lesbian porn made for lesbians are tiny and their stuff doesn't sell very well.

I won't lie, I do enjoy lesbian porn every now & then, I just really prefer the type that is made for lesbians over the stuff made for hetero guys. That stuff is just so insanely ridiculous (I know I use this word a lot, but it's true!) Honestly, the romantic end of things is what I really am stimulated by, & the majority of the stuff out there, I honestly get turned on more by the kissing & caressing & cuddling than I do by the sex itself. That's probably why I actually like yuri more than I do porn, it's just so much more romantic and the stories are so much more enjoyable. My favourite is Strawberry Panic & there is virtually no sex & no full frontal in it at all, but it's just insanely romantic & the stories are sooo good!

I dont think the "proof is in the porn" theory always works. Im a lesbian and I cannot watch porn with women in it. Its cheap, tacky and I get embarassed for the women in it. The very odd time I do find some worth watching, I have to put it on mute because the fake moans and screams are so off putting. On the other hand, I love gay man porn. Men dont fake it in porn, they generally enjoy themselves and that turns me on, regardless of gender. I love porn and I think its such a pity that real lesbian porn is so hard to come by. When I want something somewhat authentic I just watch the L Word, that usually does the trick.

The L Word is such a great show, but I remember when it first came on TV in 2004, I started watching it & while I felt very comfortable watching it & even related on an emotional level with one or two characters, it also deeply confused me that I felt that way at the same time as I hadn't fully come to terms with my own sexuality & gender identity yet. I'm actually going to go out & buy season 1 and start watching it soon as I think it will be a little easier for me now that I'm out a bit & have started to accept myself...

I used to use straight porn to sort of convince myself I was straight. I like the idea of being straight, so I tried to make myself straight. Although, I never really found lesbian porn all that great, but I watched it anyway. I'd often think "Hey wait, I'm not enjoying this, but I should be. Enjoy this, dammit!" I was also much more interested in straight porn when you saw more of the guy. To be a little graphic, I'd also get excited the few times that Cinemax would show the penis. I'd have to force myself to get it up for women, but for men it was natural.

I never quite put two and two together to figure out I was gay until recently though. Denial is a powerful thing.

Exactly lol. One second it's hot, the next it loses steam because the woman doesn't seem to be into it and faking it which is a major distraction. Unsure if this is just cause I'm a guy using my hetero brain, why aren't women in porn enjoying it more? Or why can't they get women who do? Now movies... that underwater naked mermaid scene in Piranha 3D.... :eusa_clap

Sad to say, men fake it in gay porn as much (or more) as women do in straight porn.

As far as I can say (and this is based on limited data) the "proof is in the porn" is only a reasonably reliable indicator for men, not for women, in part because there's almost no lesbian porn produced for lesbians, and the lesbian porn shot for men is... for men, and therefore not remotely attractive or appealing to lesbians.

I find a lot of gay male porn to be of very low quality. Straight and lesbian porn usually has at least some level of story or lead in to the sex. Gay porn just goes straight into it.

Honestly, there isn't much lead in in either case. From what I've seen, people walk in the room, strip down, maybe say one or two things and then just start going at it, which is absurd. I've never started being intimate with anyone like in any porn film I've ever seen, be it gay, straight or lesbian porn...

you know, people say gay porn has a higher production value. I just don't see it though, it often seems like it has a lower production value.

I didn't say they had a lot of lead in, but there's usually at least some. Also with lesbian porn, where it's supposed to be the girl's first lesbian experience, it's usually more believable than the dude's first gay experience.

And porn where the guy is supposedly straight, but is coaxed into it is downright laughable. The dialog is usually something like:

"But I don't want to fuck a dude"
    "Yes you do"
    "OK"

I mean, just a little bit more would do. If they even put it in slightly more effort.

I prefer porn without plot, as the plots are generally so stupid that they detract from the experience. I did find one vid that actually made me go "awww" cause it was sweet and romantic.

I think that sometimes you can almost get into a subconscious state when masturbating (if you're really going for it) and yeah, that's when you really let your true attractions come out. For years I had a drug problem and would often spend a considerable amount of time getting high and masturbating with gay and trans-gender porn but in the "real world" was totally identifying as completely hetro and saying how gross the idea of anything like that was, just in utter denial.

It wasn't until I had got off the drugs I began to realise that unmedicated these feeling didn't go away, they made much more sense and I was using the porn to take the edge off the feelings I had on a day to day basis and drugs to forget what I was doing to myself and make it easier to lie.

But as the concept says; "the proof is in the porn" and always was
