I usually call my girl "lover", "love", "lovey" or "sweetheart".

    Same here, and occasionally "love."

I've called my past boyfriends & girlfriends; Babe, Boo, Darling, Sweetie, and Sexy. I usually call them those and give them a cute special nickname for them.

My ex boyfriend and I would just call eachother babe or baby. It sounded and felt the most natural for us.

I've never really dated anyone, but I'd hate to be called babe/baby/gorgeous/etc, it's just so cringe-worthy. :frowning2:

You can speak dutch? lol another funny name we call one another is "doos" or "poes".
now in dutch these woords have a different meaning than in Afrikaans, like poes is a cat but in afrikaans its revered to female genitalia. while doos in dutch is refered to a box, in afrikaans its also revered to a box but also to the female genitalia :roflmao:

I call my girlfriend babe, baby, honey. She calls me sweetheart, sweetie, babe, baby, honey, etc. Neither one of us has a problem with them, but I completely respect the fact that some people do.

But surely you can't be serious! [Did I get the right film reference?]

As for my pet names, the standard Darling, Honey/Honey Bunny, Dearest, Sweetie/Sweet heart, Love/Lover/Love of mine. Then there's the ones I use more over msn rather than to his face: Keeper of my heart, One and Only, Snuggle-Monster, Man-Creature. And then there're ones that I do call him to his face, that really aren't suited to be published here

Babe imo really depends how it's said, it can sound affectionate but also sluttish/impersonal.
In Dutch a lot of nicknames don't appeal to me especially compared to English nicks.
If I ever get into a relationship with a guy I don't know what nickname I'd use. ATM the onlyone I think sounds right is love or dear. But as I said in Dutch they sound weird.
Anyway I guess I'll know if and when I get into a same sex relationship.

    This made my evening

OT: I've never been in a relationship so honestly I wouldn't know. But I agree with Linthras, most Dutch nicks aren't very appealing.
