So, the guy I'm kind of interested in might be interested in me back. I get to hang out with him today, and then another friend is dragging us with her to a club so I can fulfill duties as gay best friend. Today will be rather awesome, methinks.

I'm enjoying this thing called networking. Having all these contacts is proving very useful. Here's hoping good things come of this!

I'm really tired- that's a lot to say from someone who's always hyper :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
I cleaned the house, did laundry, washed dishes, made soup and rode a bike for almost an hour non-stop.

I just finished watching a documentary that came out last year that was covering physical beauty in the gay culture....

Naturally, I don't feel very good after watching it...it seems that all anyone cares about anymore is sex sex sex...I feel like the odd man out.

When people hypersexualize gay culture, it makes me really, really uncomfortable. It makes it seem like all gay people are concerned about is having sex. Not like we don't, you know, save lives, serve in the military, raise kids, walk dogs, work retail, write screenplays, drink coffee, put our pants on one leg at a time, attend class, and all that other life-centric jazz.

And I'd say it's just a stereotype people have, but I know several gay guys whose primary directive is "get some" and who are more concerned with hookup sites and dancehall bump-and-grind than they are with making something better of themselves.

Personally, I think it's because they've internalized all their lives that they can't make anything better of themselves because they're gay. It's the "We're damned anyway, might as well have fun!" mentality. And it's sad.

This guy wrote a whole book about it called The Velvet Rage: Overcoming the Pain of Growing Up Gay in a Straight Man's World: Pride and prejudice for gay men | Society | The Observer

I was bored in Creative Writing and Literature today and I was just sort of casually reading the syllabus to see what we're doing for this semester and I seriously cannot even begin to believe what I saw. Next Friday we're reading a gay cowboy erotic novel--I won't say which one because it's x-rated, but there's plenty of penis references sprinkled throughout and it's just going to be so explosive. I don't even know what else to say about it.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure a girl in my class might actually have elephantitis. I was mildly disturbed.

I have the laptop now for a short while! Yay~!

Recap of the last few weeks: My computer monitor finally died on me and I've been using my phone to check my messages on EC, it would not let me post on the forum though. Then my phone was knocked out of my pocket at school while I was exiting a bathroom stall and went into the toilet. It no longer works. >.> Also me and my girlfriend are no longer an item, but I've decided there is no sense in dwelling on it. On a good note, College American History is awesome, I'm so glad I took that class this year!

I found a new path to get to class today. Right across the street from my building there is a sidewalk that goes through a forest-y area and come out right next to the Business Building, where most of my classes are. It takes about half the time as my other route, plus it's kind of relaxing walking through such a beautiful, quiet woodland area right in the middle of the city.

I'm way more excited about it than a normal person probably would be:lol:
