You sir have my respect for knowing that Inferno is only one part of that trilogy. Then again so few people read the classics any more.....*sigh*. Bravo good sir is all I can say.

As for my personal favorite it would have to be the Abhorsen series. I am also a large fan of Ann Rices Vampire chronicles but want to slap the emo out of Lewis and Armand for that matter.

Harry Potter is an obvious favourite.

I also love Enid Blyton's Malory Towers, St clare's and Naughtiest Girl series.

I'm never going to grow up

Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings are definitely my two favourites.

I also loved the Mortal Engines books - hope they do a good job with the films.

Garth Nix - "Old Kingdom" and "Keys to the Kingdom" Series
Eoin Colfer - "Artemis Fowl" series
William Nicholson - "The Wind on Fire" Trilogy
Philip Pullman - "His Dark Materials" Trilogy
Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler) - "A Series of Unfortunate Events"
Darran Shan - "Demonata" and "The Saga of Darran Shan" series

On my list to read is Anne Rice's work; I'm very interested to read those, having seen the two films based on them.

I was reading though the past posts, baited breath, to see if anyone mentioned "Twilight" *sighs*

The Dark Tower by Stephen King (7 novels). Hands-down.

Save a horse, ride a gunslinger.

Words cannot express my happiness that The Wise Man's Fear is finally coming out. If he waits four years again for the release of the third one, I'm going to kidnap Pat Rothfuss out of his house and force him to finish it in mine a la Misery.

Bartimaeus Trilogy Series Trilogy by Jonathan Straud. Seems like a prequel was published in 2010 so no longer a trilogy! but it's still a trilogy because prequels don't count!

Jikes, such a difficult question, I love reading book series. Favourite might be Harry Potter, but I also love Nora Roberts Chesapeake Bay Saga (I have all her series, but this one is the best and I've read it over and over and over again, many more times then HP). Ghost Walker series is also a good one. And I love all of J.L Langley book series. Oh oh and A Strange Place in Time by Alyx J. Shaw, and The Draegan Lords by M.L. Rhodes.... and and... *sigh* I'll stop now :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I like the "Day by Day Armageddon" series by J.L. Bourne if u like zombies its definitely a good read, I also like the Doom series, and the Resident Evil books, better story than the game and the stupid movies.

Man you are right up my street with your excellent selections Zeratul. Can't wait for the third in the demon trilogy. Have you read the great bazaar and brayan's gold also? Durzo Flint is awesome, look forward to reading some more Brent Weeks (not enough time in the day).

    Ok, here's my 10 cents...

Sword of Shannara original trilogy (3/3) - Terry Brooks
Dark Tower Saga (7/7) - Stephen King
Banned & the Bannished (5/5) - James Clemins
Chronicles of the Raven (3/3) - James Barclay
Legends of the Raven (3/3) - James Clemens
Song of Ice and Fire (currently on A Feast for Crows) - George R R Martin:thumbsup:

I really could go on but these are just a handful of my favourites.

It makes me sad that no one has mentioned Skulduggery Pleasant yet. Those books are so funny, so good and unnappreciated by many. It's like... my favourite seven (out of nine so far... quite a big bunch, but so worth it!) books ever.

Also, Stephen King's Dark Tower, Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling and, for the nostalgia, A.A. Milne's Winnie the Pooh books.

    Not out at all
    Not in any particular order

    • The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Ring trilogy - J.R.R. Tolkien
    • Harry Potter series - J.K. Rowling
    • The Dark Tower series - Stephen King (only got to book 5 or something)

The Dark Tower - Stephen King
King kind of lost me when he started crossing story lines. He successfully did with the King/Bachman books but I wasn't crazy about it in the Dark Tower series....which is why I never finished it.

The Dark Tower series (still have to finish it though, only got half-way through the fourth before I stopped)

    Harry Potter

Halo novels (technically not a series, but I just love Halo)
