    Good for you?

If you're worrying about appearing too old to be scene, why are you going further and making yourself more into the style? Although, I don't think a lot of piercings is really an attribute of the scene style. At least, not a common one.

No I am more conserd about how long I can keep it up but I have heard and seen emo/scene guy and girls in there 30s keep it up, and I have come to the concontion that in later life you don't have to stop just change your looks to be more age appoperate. Just look at the 60s rockers and hippys there in there 50s and 60s and still pulling it off today who knows what 60 year old scene/emo will look like, if the hippys and rockers pull it of why not todays teen types(goths, emo, scene, e.t.c.) as long as they sirvive long enother to get to thats stage.

It's called growing up. You don't think about it, it just happens.

At this point in history facial (and other) piercings have become icons of passé conformity. Everyone and his dog seems to have them.

Have you considered defining yourself on your own terms?

You are a unique individual so why not let the world know it?

Being a trend setter/a fashion follower.

    My $.02

Besides, it confuses the heck out of me as to why so many young men choose to fill & injure their naturally beautiful faces (etc) with hardware. (Mind you mopy hair and subtle eyeliner look pretty good on a young guy IMO.)

Eye liner, yes. Mopy hair, no, looks like a mop!

Alrighty. I was grasping for a word to describe the emo hairstyle. How would you describe it?

    FLOPPY!

That is the perfect word for it. Reminds me of rabbit ears.

I must say that I do find the emo look to be quite appealing.

Emo lads remind me of the more eccentric rock guitarists I occasionally encountered when I played bass in bar bands aeons ago.

God damn, emo is music. Stop calling kids emo. They're scenesters. And the scene has somewhat moved away from moppy hair and went to spike the back and cover your eyes.

To be fair, over here in the UK emo is used to refer to a style of dressing, as well as the music. Scene over here means something different, more to do with an indie style of dressing. A subtle difference, but a key one.

I'm US, and it's seen that way in my region too. Emo and scene are different. Not by much, but they are two movements of fashion/music.

honestly, I think it starts to get a bit pathetic once you're 15 or 16.

I always though emo's were bipolar goths. Although your never to old to be part of a click, but eventually most of us grow up mentally and want to be an individual not an associate of some stereotype.

the style is nice but the mentality is something to avoid.
