I have a few straight male friends but the vast majority of my friends are females.

Mine are mostly male. And, if you want to have another go at creating a poll for this thread click "thread tools" above your first post (slightly to the right in the blue bit).

Most of my friends are girls. I have a couple of guy friends, most of them are either gay or hot (or both)
And I'm not even friends with them *because* they're hot so I'm not quite sure how that happened

It's tough to say, because it's tough to decide where the dividing line is between "friend" and "not really friend". I decided to use facebook to find out. Admittedly, facebook isn't the be-all and end-all of deciding who my friends are, but I figured the sample chunk is adequate. In other words, I don't think I'm more likely to befriend male acquaintances than female ones on facebook (or vice versa), so I'm guessing the overall picture is about the same. I made an early guess that two-thirds of my friends were male, and it ends up that's pretty close to the mark - 66.16% of my Facebook friends are male.

And, just for fun, I went back through the males and figured out what percentage were gay. This was a bit tougher, since I have four FB male friends where I actually don't know what they are. (I'm simply not that close to them.) I THINK two are gay and two are straight, so I just went with that. Given that, 72% of my male friends are straight. Although mixed into that group are two guys who BOTH have told me "I'm the world's gayest straight man" (they don't know each other), and a friend who tells me he's straight but sets off my gaydar like crazy for some reason.

Nearly all of my friends are nerds. And they are predominantly straight girls except for the ones who are straight guys.

    Nerds are the best :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

So many people I know were talking about going to see Harry Potter yesterday. I was like: "Yep. My friends are all total geeks."

Yeah that is a fact. Most of my close friends are girls. But my best friend is a straight male. It isn't related to your sexual orientation. It's about you who are, what kind of person you are. Right?

I have more male friends than female friends, but more of my closest friends are female, so I guess it can go either way for me

In my case, more male friends than female, and they'd mostly be straight. But I have close friends of both sexes and different sexualities.

The vast majority of my close mates are straight guys. I just seem to socialise better around them.

Pretty much all my friends are straight guys and the few girl friends that I have act like guys lol. I have 2 gay friends that also act like straight guys and the guy I'm dating acts like a straight guy too. I just tend to get along better with them and have more in common and they're more fun. My friends are very loud and crazy and when I'm with them I get pumped up ha. Overly "flaming" gay guys can bug me sometimes, but I try and see them as good people even if they're not someone I would necessarily wanna hang out with.

I'm in a nerdy mood so I'm actually going to work it out
Not on facebook that would take forever
But my phone in theory is pretty proportional of some of the people I actually talk to

    Straight males: 6 (15%), Straight females: 28 (72%), Gay males: 2 (5%), Gay/bi females: 3 (8%)
    So 8 (21%) guys and 31 (79%) girls totalling 39
So I can quite safely say that I talk to more girls than guys
And 3 of the straight guys I have on my phone I know because they're my friends' boyfriends haha
I know like, no gay people though for some reason hmmm

Probably just cuz I'm not used to them. It's an irrational prejudice I'm not proud of and trying to get over.
