Hopefully I didn't miss another thread like this one, but I did a search and didn't find one :/

So, the movie is coming out on August 13th in the USA (here's the release info for everywhere else: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0446029/releaseinfo)

It's about an awkward guy by the name of Scott Pilgrim (played by Micheal Cera) who has to defeat his new girlfriend Romana's (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) seven evil exes in order to win her heart. We meet other cool characters along the way including Scott's gay roommate! Wallace Wells (Kieran Culkin) and more (don't wanna spoil it).

I'm so excited for it! For one, Edgar Wright is directing it and that means we should be expecting awesomeness similar to his other movies: Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead. For two, the books were great! I've read the five that are already out and they're hilarious. The 6th book came out July 20th and finally, we get to meet the final evil-ex :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

this was brought to you by cartoon Scott:

My boyfriend got to see the advance release of it last night in Champaign (Illinois), and he said it was really funny. He said that Michael Cera got on his nerves a bit in this one - which is really uncharacteristic, lol - but meh. I'm still looking forward to seeing it next month with the common folk.

I like Micheal Cera, but he acts the same in every movie. Actually, he doesn't really act, that's just who he really is.
My cousin went to the same school he did (Heart Lake Secondary School, in Brampton, Ontario) and she's like that's how he really is, the nerdy, quiet person. Hmmm.

But still, I'm so looking forward to watching this movie!

I have such a crush on Michael Cera! He's geeky, cute, adorble and funny. What's there not to like?

I had no idea he was Canadian though, that came as a total surprise, but it's awesome!

I'll see this movie. It looks interesting.

I'm looking forward to not watching it. Rule of thumb: if the commercials for a movie make me cringe with a barrage of stupidity, I don't watch the movie. Bruno is an exception, but my sister and I couldn't even finish it.

Saw the movie today, it was greatttt!

I'd give it an 8.5/10 for honoring the books, but it lost points for skipping some fun stuff. However, for the sake of time, I understand that sacrifices had to be done o.o

Mary Elizabeth Winstead's character (Ramona) is so gorgeous and amazing, I wish I was in Scott's place

Kieran Culkin (Wallace) was a hilarious gay roommate, and he was quite simply, the comic relief, just like in the books. (!)

It was a great adaptation, a bit rushed at times, but the actors were so much like the characters should be, it was fun!
