These people are truly saints. http://www.timschraeder.com/2010/06/30/a-different-kind-of-demonstration-at-gay-pride/
I want to hug those people. Every one of them. That's so wonderful! I wish more so called Christians were like that. I grew up in the church so I know how harsh and harmful they can be, but when I hear about people like this, it really gives me hope, and makes me feel that all Christians aren't a lost cause. It gives me faith in humanity again. Thanks for posting!
Being raised catholic and struggling to find peace between my beliefs and being gay, this brought me to tears.
There's lots of lots of gay people, probably many here at EC, who have been so unfairly judged, attacked and done wrong by the religious community. To better understand just this one specific instance, check out an interview that the "protest" leader had with the underwear guy who hugged him. It's very touching! http://naytinalbert.blogspot.com/2010/07/tristans-response.html
It's a wonderful gesture, from a mostly unrepresented group of religious people... those who support gay rights. you hear so much about the religious people who use the bible to denigrate gay people... its wonderful these people decided to give a voice to those who do the opposite
These sort of people need to be in charge of there relevant churches not the old conservative mob that's there just now.
It turns out this is too good to be true... http://slog.thestranger.com/slog/archives/2010/07/01/re-christians-protesting-at-pride
