Quite a few people do, in fact! I can be found there quite regularly myself. However, chat does have a tendancy to be empty for quite a bit during the day. There are hours at which everyone is either sleeping, at work, or at school. for example, as I'm posting this (4.30 in the afternoon) most people in western europe are still at work or at school, and thus predictibly not chatting If you are faced with an empty chatroom, it's usually best to come back at another hour. If you're in the UK, you'll have better luck finding people in the evening, which is when the euro people are home.
Or around 9pm GMT it picks up pretty well as we Americans get off work/school. Is there a US evening crowd as well, does anybody know?
we need a new record. it is my hope that someday we get so many people in there we break the chat...ok so maybe that wont happen but i can dream. i will go into chat if people i like are in there. but these days they are few..if ben derek filip or a few others are in then im most likely going to chat. haha
well im from uk too obv, and usually i can go into chat about 8 or 9'o clock and usually some people are there but after 10 id say it picks up more. not any point in goin on earlier usually cos its empty.
Well, it takes some time to get into the flow of chat, for some. Going in there is like going into a bar. There's probably already some conversation going, and people are usually just going to say hi and carry on the conversation, assuming that you'll go with the flow yourself. Don't see that as people giving you the cold shoulder, however. Most of the time, people are really friendly in there. They just assume that you know what you're doing. And if you feel lost, there's no shame in saying "Hey guys, I feel totally lost in this chat room. anyone care to fill me in?". People will do their best to help you fit in, if you just ask for it.
I've pretty much stopped going in unless somebody wants some "realtime" advice. Really, do you want the gargoyle chaperone in there putting a damper on things? Lex
I felt a bit lost at first too, especially since most people are using their real names. I had Filip do roll call for me every day for a week or so until I learned Thanks Filip! (!)
