This. Is. Outrageous. I can't believe that Australia would sink this low to outright criticize the female form on the grounds that small breasts can resemble underage breasts. What a fuck load of bullshit. Not only are these women over the legal age to participate in porn, but it is essentially saying that women must fit the stereotypically curved silhouette. I can't imagine what will happen to the queer porn! But of course, it doesn't stop there. They're also placed a ban on female ejaculation. I knew that video game censorship was a big deal over there, but I had hoped porn would be able to slide past these laws recently put in place for the internet (because, you know, it's already illegal for minors to acquire/watch porn so you aren't OMG!Protectingtehchildren!).
Oh my god, I thought this was a joke post when I clicked on it. What the hell? "Btw, in order to be considered an actual full-grown woman by our government, you have to have huge boobs! Lolz! Also lady-jizz is just gross so let's not go there"? There is just so much wrong with that. Can't. Articulate. ARGH, KIRAH ANGRY. KIRAH SMASH!
*Dies of Laughter* O how wonderful Australia is xD EDIT: AND LOL TO THE FACT THEY PUT KEIRA KNIGHTLY ON THERE REPRESENTING SMALL BREASTS xDDDDDD She's so damn hot though. *Contains Self* *coughs* In all seriousness, this is pretty sad.
From what I've gathered via Google it's only in the theaters/films too decrease the rate of pedophilia...don't know how that makes sense but yeah. It's pretty bad but I thought they meant like actually people with naturally small breasts which is MUCH MUCH worse.
This is so fucking ridiculous I don't even know where to begin. I'm really hoping that this is some kind of exaggeration.
:eusa_clap Also... this seems to encourage the idea of "breast implants" which probably aren't that healthy... and they have to be replaced every 10 years (or so?)... Ugh. What a ridiculous thing. Then again, maybe they're trying to discourage guys to "get off" to super young looking girls *ie: possible pedophiles*? I don't know...
I agree on the breast implants, ugh. Because beauty standards just aren't high enough until they start requiring surgery to conform to them! Lovely. But it just doesn't seem like reducing access to material like that would actually discourage it, to me. I mean, Prohibition totally stopped everyone drinking, right? And being in a socially conservative, highly religious area that frowns on pornography totally means people watch less there, right? And anyway, they are fully-grown women. Fully-grown women with small breasts do not look like little girls. It's an awful message to send by implying that they do, and this move is really going to do more harm than good (if it does any good at all, which I doubt).
:tantrum: ...And in Tomorrow's News... The Banning of G-STRINGS... because God knows... those can make anyone horny. All that rubbing and 'ability to show under a small shirt'.
http://letstakeover.blogspot.com/2010/01/australia-bans-small-breasts-no-these.html Let's all hope that this has been blown out of proportion. Details are pretty sketchy as of now.
I agree, oh wait... Please don't jump to the conclusion that our country is backwards because of one poorly supported article. Like every country we have politicians that make decisions that aren't completely aligned with the opinions of the citizens. Personally I think the censorship scheme was a bad Idea, but... I think this step of the process has the intention of removing pornography where pedophilia is implicit (The porn industry is well known for selecting young models who look like minors and placing them in sets that are a larger scale than normal to create the 'illusion' that they are smaller, more child-like, girls). However, I think that everyone should have the right to freedom of speech and of course just because some pornography can insight some people to commit crimes such as rape (it does happen), doesn't necessarily justify having an absolute blanket rule. The intention presented for this step is not an irrational one and thus Australia or even the political parties shouldn't be thought ludicrous, in my opinion. However their actions must surely be dismantled, analyzed and even criticized. As a side note, the issue of censorship of female ejaculation seems misogynistic and illogical to me and was failed to be supported with a decent arguement (in this article at least) this wasn't a personal attack, I just thought someone Australian should state their opinion, before we generalise (btw this is my opinion only)
I agree ^^ Plus its not like Australia is the only nor the first country to do something stupid or to have stupid reasons for things. Also you will find that a lot of Australia thinks this filter is bullshit and has thought so since the start. Also most of Australia isn't well informed on the matter and only know about the "STOP CHILD PORN" angle which the filter wont stop for the most part. anyways I call bullshit on this whole article because its quite laughable and I cant seem to find it repeated anywhere creditable or at all. Not that the filter isn't a bad idea because it is and will cut out a lot things it shouldn't but please next time you come across something like this refrain from making comments until you have actual reliable proof. thank you!
Australia, just any other country that makes a stupid mistake, should be criticized. While the article is not necessarily from a reliable source, the world has watched Australia bury its citizens under ridiculous censorship laws. Just because your heart is in the right place does not excuse the actions done to achieve your goal. True, many other democratic nations have implemented filters on the internet to block child pornography, but in all other cases the filter is voluntary. Not so in Australia. It is clearly already being abused to censor anything the politicians find unfavourable. (Note: Totally not supporting child pornography.) So stand up for your country if you think they don't deserve criticism. No one here said anything about the citizens of Australia in their denouncement. But just know that it's a disgusting violation of freedom of information, even if that information is eighteen year-old girls having sex.
I don't have a problem with anyone criticising Australia over something real, meaning the filter itself, but I do have a problem with people criticising Australia over something that is clearly an exaggeration and is bullshit, meaning the article. And I apologise if this or my previous post came off as harsh I didn't intend it to.
AAAHHAHAHAH! Ok, as an aussie talking here I have to say this. TRUST! Trust Australia to ban small breasts . Ahahahah! Sure our Government is just ridiculous at times, and the withholding of an R rating in games also comes into this, but in some senses, it is for a good reason. I think. . . The whole trying to stop pedophilia makes sense. . .i guess. But, whatever. Also, just by the way. Australia is a great country, and not just because the guy behind me is telling me to type this. It isn't heading the way of V for Vendetta. Trust me on that one. Besides, we are one of the most laid back countries in the world. I don't think many people in Australia can be bothered to become our dictator, let alone have the capability to do so. I can imagine this sort of situation: "BOW DOWN TO YOUR MASTER" . . . "Whatever" "I SAID BO-. . .oh f%ck it." *walks away* By the way, *insert troll comment here*, And thats why Australia sucks.
